Got a velocity on the way, what they like?

Hi people. Hope everyone is cool.

I currently use an El cabron as my go to RDA, I tried a mutation X V4 but that was a present for my fiancee, and it didn't feel as well built as the el cabron.

The velocity arrives tomorrow, but I always see it mentioned on here so thought it must be good.

Flavour is my main aim, then clouds, although I do occasionally cloud chase for fun.

So, does the velocity fit the bill? I am only changing RDA as with more watts, the El Cabron gets scorching, and triggers the High temp warning in my devices.

Maybe that is why the Mutation was thinner? Holds heat for less time?

I also have a mutation mini V4 on the way, it was cute and looked cool in green so got a clone.

I was a huge Mutation fanboy forever up to the V4 but I have to be honest the Velocity is better. It can be whatever you want, a flavor or cloud chaser with the wide range adjustabilty. The hilites for me are, so freakin easy to build. Dripping even soaks through the 510, since it is open in the middle of the build deck, and ability to go from flavor extreme to cloud extreme, or in the middle. DEEP deck. It does so many things right.

Love my v4 ,but also looking at the velocity as I like the build deck , it looks pretty sweet to build on and adjustability of the airflow is nice too.

I got it this morning, I put this on par with the el cabron. Just as good, if not better, and the el cabron was my go to RDA.

I have a mutation Xv4 aswell, due to splitting with my soulmate.

The velocity gets HOT though, very hot during use, the mutation is a thinner metal so cools a bit quicker.

What type of build are you using on it? And are you using the indirect airflow?

I love mine, I build my coils a bit more to the center to keep the heat a smidge further away from the sides, does it work ....I don't know I like to think it does:)

It's a great RDA and since I got it I really haven't looked at anything else..

Hi there, I am using the only airflow I could recognise, the holes around the side all lined up? Is there another way to use it?

I am running a .4 Ni200 build in it at the moment. I will probably switch it out for Kanthal today, as TBH the temp control does not seem that big of a deal to me on the sigelei 75. Sure, it cools high watttage, but I like it to be warm at high wattage, as thats how I know I am at a higher wattage lol.

Oh my god, what a pleb. You uncsrew it slightly to open up 2 large airholes, and there is also more circles for even more airflow.

I had been using it on its smallest airflow setting thinking hmm, now it is better than my go to, the el cabron. I think this may well be my go to, I am running a single coil Ni200 in there at .4 ohms, and it keeps up with the duals.

The Temp control is cool and that, but I am switching to kanthal after breakfast to try this beast in dual coil on my 150. I think it may produce even more vapour than my el cabron, and it has flavour to boot, even with the wide bore tip. Can't wait to try a smaller bore tip on this and try if for flavour chasing, but it is a real demon in the cloud department.

There's the small holes(indirect) and when you unscrew half the aty for the side holes also

Yep, the big holes in the middle are your direct airflow, the little ones are indirect, for cooling things off a bit.

Works great with kanthal. Got a 24g, 10wrap dual coils (.37ohms) running at 75w. Have it wide open, til I get used to it( I never built this low before)so the vape is still a bit warm to me. Might add a couple of wraps to it.

New member/poster here. Just figured I'd chime in about the Velocity. I got a Tobeco clone (which I bought to test, as it's my first rda and I didn't want to drop $115 just yet), which looks 1:1 in almost everything except machining on the deck. Being my first RDA, I started with a horizontal single coil 28 gauge kanthal. 8 wraps 1.3 ohms and fired anywhere from 12 watts to 15 watts. I found the sweet spot to be 13.5. Very nice flavor, plenty of vapor.

I then built a horizontal .5 ohm 4 wrap 28 gauge kanthal coil. Fired at 23.5-30 watts. Way more flavor, way more vapor, but way more battery and juice drainage.

Searched YouTube for different builds and came across twisted coils. I twisted my 28 gauge kanthal and built a 1.3 ohm coil. Honestly, not at all impressed with the flavor. Everyone raved about twisted coils being so great, but it muted my flavor alot. Built a second coil and got the same results :(

Then got more confident and built my first dual coil setup. Horizontal .7-.8 ohm 7 wrap 28 gauge kanthal. Firing at 20 watts and when the coils are new or just cleaned, the flavor is very good. But they gunk up so quickly, I mean in like a few hours. Constantly changing the cotton. Not a huge pain, but I see it getting old quickly.

After running the dual coil setup for a few days, I honestly think I prefer the simple single coil. 1.3 ohms at 13.5 watts. Or the .5 ohms at 23.5-25 watts.

I guess my question is, am I missing something? I read over and over that people are happier with twisted and dual coils.

Will be buying the authentic Velocity when it's available again.

You're not missing anything. Everyone has a different sweet spot. You found yours. Some people like to experiment, some don't. On the twisted, it could be a matter of different gauges, different atty, power, etc. Hence the compulsion to experiment. As far as the gunking goes, it could be your juice. Is it real sweet? I change flavors often, dry burning and wicking as I go. So I'm not sure how bad your wicking is. How dark do you let it get? A lot of people just wait until the taste goes "off". Anyway, like I said, every vaper has there own way of doing things. Congratulations, on taking the step to rebuilding.

Thanks for the response. I actually don't let the wicking get bad at all. The coils (I say coils because my dual coils gunk up faster) get gunked up quickly, but I'm using max vg and it's really sweet. I mean, really really sweet. I've been told that's the reason.

I guess I just want the "cooler" builds to work better. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain haha.

On a side note, I built a tricro coil just now and the flavor is IMMENSE. I'll see how fast the coils gunk and post the results. Cool looking coil, TONS of vapor and top notch flavor.

Tricro? Lol.. For a beginner builder, you're doing pretty good.

Haha, well building is relatively easy when you can follow along on YouTube.

I went on to build a 2.5mm 7 wrap 28 gauge kanthal single coil. 1.6 ohms and vaping at 16 watts. Heavenly. So simple, so effective.

Just a little update. I built a 0.8 ohm parallel coil with 28 gauge kanthal. Think I used 7 or 8 wraps. Flavor is wicked good. Vapor production is blinding haha. Think I may have found my new fave coil!
