Got new glass...but way too dark

I picked up smoked glass for my tfv8 last week. Was so excited for it to show up, but when it did I was immediately disappointed. The glass I bought is straight up black and I can't see liquid level at all. Can't hold it up to light, not even phone flashlight helps..... major let down. Looks sweet but lost the functionality of being glass....

It does look nice, oh well.
Just pretend it a solid metal body tank, only without the metal

I ordered a black one from eBay for $4 and change and I can see my liquid.
Depends who you order from, some are just to dark...

My Merlin glass tanks were dark. I was able to warm them up in hot water and scratch with a knife the dark film coating off the outside of the glass and now I have clear glass. I don't know if it'll work for the TFV since the TFV4's I have are all clear glass but what the who...its worth a shot..
