Got the IPV D2! Workaround working, great device. Prefer to the sig!

Hi people. I have the IPV D2, it arrived around 15 minutes ago!

I love it, its size, it does actually feel good quality, so there is no issues there.

The only thing is, as we know, the no step down in power mode.

I thought the workaround was choose joule mode, slap a kanthal device on, and choose joules as your wattage as the Chinese messed up and made 1 joule = 1 watt lol.

Thing is, if I try this, it says on screen NO JUICE and will not fire!

I have been using it in power mode, and its ok at around 30W, but when I lower the voltage, the voltage DOES go down on the screen, and 15W appears to produces a lot less than 30?

So, is it showing no juice as they know of the workaround, and this is a newer model without the problem, or should I try a different device? I have only tried my lemo, and that definitely had juice in lol.

Thanks to anyone that can help me.

Conan.

Its working. I forgot you had to choose coil resistance by holding the two buttons, thats why I got no juice on the display. It now works fine down to 10 watts/joules.

My god, it is amazing. If they sort the issue so you don't have to do the workaround, it would be my clear winner. I prefer this to the Sigelei 75 at the moment. With the workaround the sig wins, but on that one condition.

Supporting Ti as well as nickel is a big thing to me, as nickel gives me a bad throat whenever I use it, so Hopefully the TI I have on the way doesn't plus even though you have to do a workaround, I can use lower power tanks (You can tell voltage is constant as the power is consistent you recieve).

In other areas like size, feel, vapour, I feel the IPV D2 wins. The Sig may be built better as it is heavier though.

Due to having a lot of nickel 200 (over 50 meters)l, I am going to send it to a certain member as I know he wants a temp control device, might do him well.

Right, I think temp control is better on the IPV D2. On my sigelei, it seems to burn and doesn't taste too good as 220C, this device at 220C works fine.

If I use it at 16 watts, it is constant power, up it to 30 you can hear the PWM cutting in and out the voltage to keep the temperature as constant as possible.

I tested both, same build, one after the other again and again. The IPV Seems to win. And that is coming from someone who owns a Sig 30, sig 50(fiancees) Sig75TC, and a sigelei 150.

The D2 is a great device, I want to see how battery lasts during the day, but this may be my new take out vape.

I will still use the Sigelei as it is a great device, I just feel personally the D2 is better, issues and all.

If they fix the power mode issue, even better, but as long as there is a workaround to use under 27W I am happy, and the workaround works fine.

It is a bit more confusing menu wise, but if you read the istructions (I know we don't do it, thats why people had problems with their lemo V2s, they did not realise they had to be filled up on their side).

Very impressed. If you can get one, I would advise it. It may use the IPV cable, but that is no problem to me, it is a standard 5V pin charger so not hard to get gold of a mains adapter, just the USB to pin is strange lol.

I am wondering if my sigs temp control is broken after trying the IPV. If it is, it doesn't matter anyway as this is now going to be my TC device, I been using it since this morning (Around 11) and has only lost one drop in battery, it is full untilll you depress the button.

That is using the workaround to fire kanthal at lower wattages, a 0.5 dual microcoil at around 17 watts, and the flavour is loooovely.
