Gotham: Season 1 Finale Review

I'll say this for Gotham's Season 1 finale, "All Happy Families Are Alike" (paraphrasing Tolstoy?), it revved up the action a bit, creating almost wall-to-wall violence. Plus, it shaved against the grain big time when it had Fish shoot Maroni right in the head - sending the established Batman-verse askew. A move I liked because, well, something had to give. The episode more or less opened with Penguin trying to kill Falcone and I sat there totally uninvolved because I knew, or thought, that Falcone wasn't in any danger. I was right, of course. Which is why the Maroni kill was so important. Even if he did go out quite ignobly and stupidly. "Babes."
