Only a few days after launch, Grand Theft Auto 5's PC version has hit a record number of concurrent users on Steam for a non-Valve game.
Just today, Grand Theft Auto 5 reached over 301,000 active players on Steam. That places it third on the list of current top played Steam games, right under Dota 2, which peaked at a little over 777,000 users today (it's reached 1 million in the past), and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which peaked at about 432,000 today.
These are the current stats based on active players right now.
According to GameIndustry.biz, the last non-Valve game to see so many active Steam users before Grand Theft Auto 5 was Skyrim, which reached 280,000 concurrent players in 2011.
