GTA Online's new Los Santos Tuners update introduces some brand new ways to collect and play music, including finding real-life EPs in the game world, and creating a custom radio dial for your favourite stations.

While Los Santos Tuners is primarily about creating new social spaces and missions based around custom cars, there's a lot of new musical content included, too. Moodymann – a real-life DJ introduced to GTA Online in the Cayo Perico Heist update – returns in the new update under the alias of Kenny and, while he'll offer missions to complete, he'll also be adding his musical expertise as well.

For the first time, GTA Online will see collectible Media Sticks added to Los Santos which, when found, add new music to your in-car radio dial. Those collectibles include 'Kenny’s Backyard Boogie Mix' (which Rockstar describes as "potent cocktail of house, soul, hip-hop and more"). Some of the tracks on the mix will be released inside GTA Online before anywhere else.

You'll also be able to find four sticks from Rockstar's new record label, CircoLoco – each one contains all the music from CircoLoco's real-life Monday Dreamin' EPs. Finding all four CircoLoco EPs will unlock a DJ mix that combines all 20 tracks included into one continuous mix, 'CLR Launch Party' by Seth Troxler. It's another step towards building music into the fabric of GTA's world, from in-game nightclubs to real-life DJ sets. It'll be very interesting to see if or how Rockstar builds on adding collectible music to the game, alongside its normal radio stations.

Of course, with more and more music added to the game, using the game's radio dial gets fiddlier with each addition. With that in mind, Rockstar has also enabled players to customise the radio dial from the first time, assigning their own favourite stations to it for ease of access.

Los Santos Tuners arrives today as a free update, and adds new vehicles, a car-based social space, vehicle-themed missions, new race types, and more. In the coming weeks, we'll see even more new missions, Kart Krash: Full Auto, a violent kart-racing mode, and a new lightgun arcade game added to GTA Online as well.

GTA Online will get a substantial next-gen console version this November, and Rockstar's also promised 'surprises' related to the upcoming 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 3.
