Just days after controversial tweets resurfaced from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn, resulting in the visionary immediately being fired – fans and actors of the films have come out in Gunn's defense.
A petition on change.org has over 185,000 signatures as of Monday morning and continues to climb drastically. The petition calls for Disney to rehire Gunn and "to realize the mistake they made and not do it again in the future."
Stars of the Guardians of the Galaxy films have come forward on Twitter with their reactions to Disney's decision, most recently Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Michael Rooker.
