Spoilers for “10BROAD36” within.
This week’s Halt and Catch Fire is a paradox of sorts, as it is both the prime example of the show at its very best while simultaneously being at its very worst.
First the good: the Joe/Mutiny storyline was fantastic. Watching Mutiny innovate (without even knowing it) just as retribution for being meddled with by a Corporate Bad Guy energized Cameron’s company with the punk rock fury that founded them in the first place. Their attempt to give Joe a big middle finger by fooling him into emulating a Unix system on a Commodore failed miserably, but the pure fun that the team was having while putting it together was the kind of energy this show needs to keep consistent.
