Spoilers for “Kali” within.
Despite last episode’s strong showing across the board, “Kali” unfortunately backpedals on the progression of Gordon’s character and hands him a storyline almost as unbearable as his visit to his brother’s a few weeks back. “Kali” is more or less a bottle episode for Gordon, who is trapped inside of a parking garage after getting out of jail and seeking out the rival computer company (who he had an address for, apparently, so it’s unclear why he would break into Doug’s in the first place).
Not only are there no repercussions for his arrest, be it from Donna or the public at large, he’s basically just spinning his wheels until we can get an on-screen diagnosis confirming what we already knew: Gordon is paranoid. We’ve seen the show harp on these same beats for so long, and it’s taken 19 hours of TV for any of the other characters to figure it out.
