We've known since the show's cancellation that seemingly everyone involved in the Hannibal TV series would like to return for a fourth season (or a movie), but the actual possibility of that happening has seemed shaky at best.
However, showrunner Bryan Fuller has now said that the show's complex rights could be up for negotiation in the not-too-distant future:
“Two years after the last airing of the show, we can investigate our options," explained Fuller to Collider. "August 2017 is when we can actually start talking about it. That’s when we would have to see what the rights are for the character and for the story, and see who’s interested and how we get it done."
