Just bought an efest 18650 3.7v 2800 mah. Or so I think lol that's what it says in the wrap. It says 35amp continuous discharge with a pulse of 80amp. This is actually my first time using batteries that are not the Samsung 25r. Was wondering if these batteries can actually handle up to 35 amp on a continuous discharge? I know efest re wraps their batteries that's is why I'm here asking if it is legit that this battery can handle that?

This is a custom cell for efest.

From googling for test results it seems to do well all the way up to 40A. No way is it good for 80A though. It's a bull shit rating, they don't even state the pulse duration, so it's useless information.

Be careful with them. You don't have the reputation of a big OEM manufacturer to back up the safety of them.

Personally I wouldn't use them unregulated. I'd treat them as a decent 20a cell and stick to VTC4, 25R and HD2 for low ohms in a mech mod.

If in doubt considering it a ton lower in rating than that is listed.

I find that orbtronics are way better batteries sx30 do the trick for me. But some people need that extra kick in a battery. My question is with all the box mods and new vv/vw devices why even mess with a mech, and if your not using a mech why do you need a 35A battery just get a dual 18650 box mod, much safer then running batteries to the extreme.

High power box mods cam strain cells just as much as a mech. A 200W mod needs 32A to provide that wattage when cell voltage gets low, so cheap China boxes are getting just as bad. There's no cell on earth year can power a 200W mid within its continuous rating.

I like using my tube mech. One tube and the right battery is way more versatile for me than a box. Once I buy a mod I'm stuck at its wattage limit.

Dropped my Nemesis 8 meters onto concrete not long back. All I had to do was check everything was tight and file the rough edge off where it hit the ground. If I'd have dropped my Sigelei, it'd be in the bin.

Mechs aren't going anywhere. If people are worried about about stressing batteries, go parallel, or go series and quadruple your resistance for the same power at half the amps.
