Hey guys...

I'm looking at purchasing a box mod with an RTA but I have no clue which to pick. I've been using an iJust 2 since i quit smoking four months ago.

I love the look of the Sigelei 213 and the size is perfect. The problem I have is all the issues i've been reading up about. Ideally this would be the perfect mod for me.

Could someone guide me in the direction of the best box mod out there at the moment. Compact in size with dual 18650 perferably.

Also, which RTA would you suggest is best for a beginner?

I would be importing everything so cant really make any mistakes.

Thanks in advace

I had a look at the h-priv but the firing door concerns me.

I've gone through 1000's of images and 100's of articles on this site. I simply can't make up my mind. I think subliminally I still want the sig

The issues i have with the VT133 is that the door is quite loose and its even taller than the RX200. It doesnt look modern to me and the finished are a bit meh. Am i accurate in that?

I have heard a lot of good about the dna board though.

The aromizer looks sweet :) will read up more on it.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

If the door becomes loose you just take it off and give the open side a gentle squeeze. All my doors fit nice. I'm giving you a combination that works great. What looks best and works best aren't always the same thing. I'm a function over form type of guy.

5 of a Kind - VT133

I must say, the different color combinations make it look a bit better. I haven't read up too much
about it, besides the couple of videos i've watched. It just seems a bit tall for my liking though. Maybe I should
start wrapping my head around liking it :/

What are your views on Minikin 1.5/Sigelei/H-priv? Any other recommendations?

My current favorite setup is a 213 with an Aromamizer Supreme. Perfect size, capacity and vape, and real easy to build and maintain.

Would I be satisfied with the 213 or shouldn't I consider it? I'm still loving the design and nothing else pops out at me.

Note: I haven't had a vw device with temp control so not sure how relevant
TC is.

Honestly I've had a few TC mods and even though I've played with the TC on all of them, I always end up using VW instead (or Power Mode). With TC, you have to use either NI200 or TI which you CANNOT dry burn, or SS. SS you can use in either VW or TC. TC is great for single coils and some work great with dual coils, but when the coil gunks up, you're going to have to rebuild instead of dry burn and re-wick.

That makes more sense to me now, thanks. How long have you had the sig for?

I am waiting on the reviews (user experiences, non of those youtube shallow thingees) of the new ipv6x or the new asmodus minikin 150w.....they seem nice and small for a dual batt mod

Thats exactly what I'm saying, I need something compact that could fit my pocket, with all the benefits :)

For about 3 months and use it almost daily. It's my work mod unless I feel like taking out one of my mechs with an RDA.

I have the Asmodus Minikin 150. I love it.

I just posted about this in another thread, so excuse me for repeating myself, but it's sturdy, reliable, good ergonomics, cool colors, simple, nice design, compact size, and I really dig how you put batteries in and out of it. Having dual batteries is an advantage, because I can go 2 full days without having to swap them out. Sometimes I go 3 days. Disclosure: I only vape at 35 watts, so your actual mileage may vary.

In some of the reviews, they complain about all the modes it has, but I only vape in wattage mode, and that's what it defaults to, so that's a non-issue for me.

In terms of price, there are definitely cheaper options, but that's a non-issue for me too, so I just want to throw that out there...

I do like how the Minikin looks, nice and compact. I prefer the sig though, if the Minikin has issues with the other functions like temp ect.

How long have you had it for? Does it scratch easily?

Cheers

I've been using the istick 100w tc for a couple months now and I like it. Rounded so it fits my hand pretty good (subjective). The paint job's kind of shit, is wearing off but I can wrap it with vinyl wrap or worry about painting it with something else down the road. Works as dual or single battery setup, up to 120w with the firmware update. Tc works pretty well with ss, better than the sig 213/fuchai 213 which as Daniel at djlsb vapes pointed out is only a 155w mod and tc is flawed. Some have suggested it's fine for vw/vv mode but that kind of defeats part of the purpose.

I don't have much sympathy for sigelei on their 213. $75-100 for a mod that fails to do tc properly and doesn't hit 213w like they claim, 2 pretty big strikes for a somewhat pricey mod. Sure the paint's kinda crap but my $30 istick manages tc the way it's supposed to and from what I've seen of the in depth reviews the carbon fiber on the sigs are just vinyl wrap as well.

Some people don't use tc, I find myself vaping in tc most of the time. Consistent hits and prevents the sweeter juices from burning the wick like wattage mode has a tendency to.

If considering mods in the $100 range there's better choices out there I think. Maybe something like the hcigar vt133 with the dna200 chip in it. The istick I have doesn't have as nice of a chip in it but hell it was 1/3 the price too. Once you start getting into that price range there's better stuff to consider imho.

What else can you suggest in the $100 range. I don't mind paying a bit more for a product that would last a long time. At the end of the day I need to be fully satisfied, otherwise I'd just be buying another one in a couple of months.

I don't really like the look of the hcigar. It's a bit big and the design looks a bit dated to me. Function over form kinda mod.

I honestly don't know, some of the better ones have already been mentioned as far as I know. Guess I'm a function over form kind of person so may not help too much lol. Regardless of what it is, mod or anything else I tend to consider ease of use, less moving parts etc. and try to avoid gimmicky stuff. I don't doubt the sig 213 does fine in power mode but if it's just going to be another 150w power mode device it should be around $40-50 tops. That's just my opinion though.

Don't know much about them but maybe the ipv400 or ipv6 (I think it's still preorder).

Well the sig is available for $59 bucks with two batteries so its not far off the mark. So at the moment its either the 213, Minikin or VT133.

I think I'll just wait a couple of weeks and see how the IPV6 looks.

Thanks for the input guys.

Feel free to add more if you see or think of something

Seeing you have one, can you measure the dimensions? There seems to be some confusion about it (most specs say 77*55*22 but some say it is 82*55*24) some clarification from an actuall measurement would be great! Do you have the sigelei or asmodus version?

I have both the Sig and the Asmodus. Both are small devices. Both vape well in power mode. Both such at TC. Battery life on the 213s is amazing. And recharging with batteries in is faster than any of my other mods. I use the Sig 213, the Fuchai 213 and the Asmodus 1.5 minikin. Also use my RX200s.

That said @Wingsfan0310 Steve is right about the VT133 DNA mod. HCigar's DNAs are really small and tight. I happen to use the VT200 DNA. I'm well pleased with it.

As for RTAs - not a huge fan of the Aromamizers. I prefer the Avocado 24 and the Limitles Plus. Why? Because I can use both as dripers or RTAs. I use my Limitless Plus more as an RDA than an RTA. When it come to RTAs today we are well spoiled. So many good choices. If you just want a standard small RTA with few issues get the Mage. One for sale in the trading forum. If you are rich get the Duke SX in the trading forum. It's almost half price.

If you had to choose one of your mods, which would it be?

I've read up quite a lot about the Mage. Looks like another good option. So many to choose from :gaah:

Thanks man

Hello. I have to confess, I have had it for only a couple weeks, so definitely take that into consideration. It's a very nice finish, but if you drop it on concrete, it's going to be an issue.

I only vape in wattage mode too, so that's also something to consider. I never use TC mode.

With all that said, I have no regrets. and I feel like a definitely made a wise decision.
