Currently using the x4 coil in my baby beast and all I’ve been getting is dry and burnt hits. I’ve fully primed the coil and am vaping at 50watts.

Is it because I’m using 80/20 juice? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Smok coils are like playing roulette with slightly better odds.

Here is what I learned about the X4 coil.

Ratings on the coil are very generous.

Some will last a week some will last half a day.

High VG, 70 and up I'd keep around 35-43 watts. When I went over 43 the taste would get bad and over 50 watts I torched two coils.

With the X4 I'd prime all the holes on the side and the top 3 times about 3 minuted apart then fill the tank half way, shut the air flow, take 5 or so hits without firing, open the airflow, and top off the tank.

Normally that would lead to a decent first hit.

The X4 when you get one that lasts is a really nice coil for flavor.

Because of the hit and miss I stopped using mine and went to a different tank all together.

I will second this, although in using the ARO and T-Dux2/3 tanks which used Smok coils I had few problems with them. Used to buy the 5 pack boxes for around $5 USD and I think out of approximately 6 boxes I found maybe 2 dud coil assemblies. But yes, Smok prefabricated coils can be extremely hit or miss. Of course, any from any manufacture can be really.

I've since moved to using an RDA on a mechanical bottom feeding (squonking) mod. Build my own coils for that and have a lot less hassle. That might not be for everyone though. I can suggest only based of word of mouth looking into some of the Ijust tanks, been seeing good reviews of them as well as good reviews for Eleaf brand made tanks.

One oddball question I might ask you, @MidgeFai , is do you leave room for air in your tanks? Some overfill with juice and without air being able to get into the tank, juice will not wick properly, it's a matter of pressure. Know that might seem a bit basic or maybe weird. I had that trouble once when starting out, though. Aside from that I'm not keen on questions about tanks, think I'm going to stay w/ where I am. :)

I normally won't suggest something without being asked but.

Since I purchased two new tanks after my Smok tank annoyed me I can say this.

Tabecco Super Tank Mini is pretty awesome. The .2 coil that came with it is going strong a week later. Using 70/30 and a 75/25 (vg/pg) 3 or 6 nic(switch juices every other day).

It is a thirsty little bastard though.

I vape the X4 coils no higher than 27.5 Watts in my Babies and the T8 that I started using at 45 Watts singed one in 1,000 puffs.

Finding the Gorge RDA to be a heavy drinker as well. *chuckles* "Use single coil, they'll use less juice he says ..." ;) :D :) I'm somewhere between 2 to 4 ml per day using the Gorge. I would say an average 3 ml a day. I used to only use about a fourth of that using tanks. I've been fairly moderate in vaping as I was in smoking. It's okay, I can sacrifice the veggie sugar goat to the Ω goddess. I'm using about 95% VG juice, started on the standard 50/50 mix but got dried out using the PG.

Well, time to kick start my day. Y'all run 'er slow. :)
