Well, I have decided to venture into series boxes. I've got tubes, a 3d printed dual parallel box, and an IPV3 LI. Now I want a good unregulated series box. I've done some searching and have narrowed down my choices to these 4:

1. Explicit Box Mods Economy Series Box: ABS plastic case, horn style switch, NO mosfet, $40.

2. 1590G custom box: Mosfet, 3d printed sled, $50.

3. BC Box Mods dual 18650 switch box: Mosfet, switchable series/parallel, $80. https://www.bcboxmods.com/product/dual-18650-switch-box-mod/

4. Smoke Stack Modz Mosfest Series B-Box: 1590B, mosfest, voltmeter, $85. http://www.smokestackmodz.com/product/purple-mosfet-series-box/

Anyone have experience with any of these? I like the price of the Explicit Box Mods economy box, but am unsure about not having a mosfet. Any help and/or other suggestions are welcome.

i haven't tried any of those but word of advice, if they are using a small vandal type switch, check the rating. They aren't rated for much more than 5 sometimes 10-amps and the switch will burn out. If it has a mosfet or a robust not over the counter switch then you are good to go.

The only one that doesnt have a mosfet is the Economy Box.

i would verify that the switch can handle the current you want to run through it then if you decide you like that box the best

I only like that one because of the price. Then there is the non name brand one on ebay for $10 more than doesnt have any pictures of the internals, but claims to have a mosfet. To be honest, I'm stuck between the BC Box Mods switchable box because of the ability to switch between series and parallel, or the Smoke Stack Modz Mosfet series 1590B box since the color I want is on sale. Both have mosfets, voltmeters, and are in 1590G boxes. Only difference is the ability to run one in series or parallel.

The switch in the eco box won't be any good. Especially in a series mod. It'll be rated at 5 amps max which would be a less than average vape. One low build and i'll be fried.

I'm actually leaning towards the Smoke Stack Modz Mosfet series box for 3 reasons. 1) The color I want is currently on sale. 2) I can add a second Mosfet for $5. 3) 30mm Fat Daddy 510. The box with a second mosfet would be $90.

Have you looked at the Jaybo Designs Noisy Cricket?
If my hands werent the size of frying pans I would go with that. The other downside is that a 30mm dripper would overhang like crazy. Besides, its a mech box. I've got plenty of mechs. What I want is a Hammond box, in series, with dual mosfets, a 30mm 510, a voltmeter, and powder coated in a nice deep purple. Pair that with the Limited Edition purple Zephyr Buddha V2 and I've got a nice cloud chasing setup.

20150918_205229_resized.jpg For hands like ours, and to satisfy the parallel and series needs in all of us. Authentic Hammer of God V2 topped with an authentic Buddha Z V2 RDA.

I plan on buying or building something similar in the near future. But thinking about using 26650's. Somehow lol. Will pair it with the new 50mm Alliance RDA lol.

Question. How do you like the Buddha Z V2? I'm trying to decide between the purple version of the Buddha, or the CCI Centurion with the 2-post Velocity style deck.

The Authentic Buddha beats the Centurion to pieces. It's a cloud and flavor beast.

Hmm, may go with the Buddha afterall. Besides, the Limited Edition purple Buddha will match that beautiful Magenta Smoke Stack Modz box so well. How well would say, dual 15 wraps of 22ga wrapped around a 3mm rod fit on the Buddha?

It'll fit just fine. Right now I'm running dual parallel 22ga KA1 8 wraps at 3mm. (.12 ohms) so that fits like 16 straight coil wraps. You'll be fine!
