Help Please: Crown: Zero Ohms

Wanted to throw this out to you guys before contacting Uwell.

Got a second Crown tank. All three of our RBAs are not registering on the ohm meter when I screw the new base in. I'm thinking it's the inside pin.

Reasons:
--There's absolutely no evidence this is a fake.
--The outside/bottom pin looks normal.
--All the RBAs are registering an ohm reading when I use the old Crown base.
--Double-checked it with a multimeter. No reading when the RBAs are screwed into the new base.

Figures. The one thing I can't adjust or measure. Meh.

Woah. These are the first close-up pics I've taken that aren't blurry.

Try a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol? Someone always says it so I figured I'd get it out of the way. I'm stumped. Hopefully Uwell helps you out.

The RBA I ordered had the same problem on all my Crowns. I was reading ECF, and this had happened to other people, so I contacted Uwell and they had me send it back and sent a new one.

This sounds like the same thing that happened with the tanks on the sub box minis when they first came out, the black ones. And I did have a sub tank do this, ordered a new contact pin, but it didn't help. The whole air flow control base was bad.

Thanks people.

Too bad that inside post isn't slotted... could just try backing it out a bit. Oh well. Contacting Uwell.

Interested to hear how Uwell handles this. I've contact them before regarding coils and never got a response. However, I imagine they get a ton of emails regarding issues with the coils.

Oh oh! I have 5 RBAs for my 5 Crown tanks. However, I haven't used any of the RBAs yet. Guess, I better check them out.

Crown Inside Pin and RBA.jpg Just a wild guess here but maybe measuring between the red lines in your pic that I have edited.
I wonder if the base of the RBA is touching both the pin and the base section once fully seated.

@Paratech
Measurement of red section from RBA: 7mm
Measurement of the red section from base: 4mm

That pin does stick up. A couple millimeters.

This is from Uwell:

You bought a fake. We don't sell to FastTech. Please make sure you buy genuine products from reputable dealers.

My fault. Semi-trusting a company that puts "authentic" on web pages. I was going to buy from FT until something bad happened. I'd say this is bad enough.

Yes, I'm not so fond of Uwell with this attitude. FT buys from someone else, but I'm absolutely sure they're not fakes if they say they're authentic.

Incidentally, the RBA that I tried on 3 crown tanks and sent back to Uwell caused a bit of an issue. It took several phone calls to get hold of them a week after they'd received it. When I finally got hold of someone he said 'it works fine.' It obviously didn't, and a quick forum search showed me I wasn't the only one with this issue. They did send me another one, but I'm quite sure they didn't even bother to test the one I sent back.

Well, that would explain an interesting fact: The two Uwell RBAs from FT had authentication codes that checked out on Uwell's site.

The non-working Crown did not have a code, BUT... our old Crown, which I know for a fact is legit, didn't have a code either.

Thanks Amanda.

The RBA is pretty bad anyway in my opinion - I did get the new one, but I hate it LOL

I've been ordering coils that come from FT. They now have the codes in a strip in the box (even from FT), and they're authentic.

I drip, so all tanks I try are bad. But equally bad, because I'm not good enough with them.

Build-wise, the RBA is totally fine. My wife sets her temp way too low on that thing, and I haven't felt the need to play around w/ it. I just needed a tank for commuting, and was going to double my juice strength and use the same setup she uses. I'll get a Crown at our vape shop, or if the RBA fits whatever new Uwell tank is out/coming out soon, I'll get that.

Meh.
