Help please!

Hi, also posted in 'new builders corner' but in case I should have asked here: just started building my first coils using 26g Kanthal on Silverplay v2; tested 6/5 wrap single coil on coilmaster ohmmeter which read 4.98 ohm! Connections all tight, was expecting around 1 ohm according to Steam Engine so tested twin (matching) coil which read 6.05 ohm! If the first reading was right would have expected about 2.5 ohm, though looking for 0.5 ohm-ish. Mystified, anybody got the time to tell me what I'm doing wrong please? Don't want to fire it til I have some kind of clue what's going on! Thanks, help!
