Herekles to Lemo 2... What is going on here?

Hey everyone, I've been smoke free for nearly 4 months now. I'm so stoked at how this whole experience has gone thus far. That said, I'm a little stumped on something and I can't seem to find a clear answer despite having searched for a few days.

I just got a Lemo 2 to serve as somewhat of a straight forward approach to building my own coils. I like the simple single coil setup with top-fill support. My box is a sigelei 150w TC and prior to getting my Lemo 2, I've been rocking a herekles tank on the .6 coil at 75w/7.2v.

After constantly hearing about how building a deck is far superior to pre-built coil setups, in addition to the clear cost saving benefits, I bit the bullet and got the Lemo 2. I'm currently running the coil it came with which is a 24g single loose kanthal at 6 wraps showing a load of .54ohm. Initially I was dealing with a ton of dry hits but I've refined my wicking technique to where dry hits are rare.

The problem though is while I was at 80w/7.2v on my herekles lung inhaling and basically chain vaping with nice full-bodied and flavorful hits, I can only run about 25w/3.6v on the Lemo 2 without it throwing a terribly dry hellish hit. To my despair I realized that all these people with wick and wrapping tips who solve their own Lemo 2 dry hit issues end their message with "now I can easily hit 20w all day, woohoo!". Or "As long as I don't pull hard, I'm getting barely any dry hits at 30w!". I was hoping that the Lemo 2 would provide the same robust hits as my herekles while crushing it in the flavor department.

So, are my expectations of what's feasible from a Lemo 2 too high? Did the herekles spoil me or something? I really want to wrap and would prefer to stay away from super complex rocket science decks for now. As it stands, I just cant see how this Lemo 2 can satisfy me if the standard acceptable power it runs best at it is a nominal 3.6v. I honestly feel like I'm going from smoking a newport to a virginia slim ultra ultra ultra light or something.

What are your thoughts and thanks in advance!

The airflow on the lemo is pretty tight for a modern tank. At 25 W I find it really hot, but still not very flavorful. Basically, the lemo is not a great tank. Don't judge all RTAs on that experience.

I tried a thin plastic drip tip on my kanger sub mini and its now more like an analog, even with lung hit. Not sure if its your long term answer but it might feel more like a red or a port, and less like an ultra light.

The Herk is big shoes to fill. It is better taste with some flavors than others but with the right juice it is a great vape. Not sure a sub mini, silo beast, lemo, isub g and similar can compare, but some think so. The Zephyrus might be worth looking into, for flavor and building.

If your looking for a single coil tank that chucks clouds check out the wotofo serpent. I don't own one bout from a design point of view its prob the best single coil available. Another great single coil is the wine rta but if you want a forsure cloud chucker might have to go to dual coil the crius and bellus are both great

I use around 22 w on the melo and the melo 2 THE MELO 2 has great air flow and the best flavor of any I have used. So if lemo is anything like them go down on temp and you might also thin the cotton out the cotton should be very free for the juice flow.

Thanks for all of the great feedback everyone! I went into this thread not knowing how crucial juice & air flow, in addition to coil setup could be. I'm going to noodle around with the Lemo 2 a bit more but I think long term yeah, I just need something that can effectively move more juice. I've been trying to avoid RDAs but I just tried my friends kennedy and wow, now I see why folks are willing to carry around baby ketchup bottles just to support a drip setup. Back when I started I just wrote those folks off as stuck in the past hahaha, now I get it...

In context of my goals though what I realized is his RDA had massive air flow support, multiple coils, etc. and being a drip, juice flow issues are non-existent unless you really screw up the wick and while he could always dial it down with a quick build swap and voltage change, the option to go big is inherently there from a hardware support standpoint which is what I'm missing.

I too have read some great things about the billow v2. A local shop suggested I look into the aromamizer by steam crave. It's a 3 post so I'd be stepping up the complexity a bit but I might have to get over it although that wotofo serpent's juice channels seem massive. If I end up sticking with a single coil setup I think I'll go with the serpent. Either way, I'll report back with my results. Thanks again guys!!!

Just a quick edit, I just found this rip tripper video on the aromamizer, looks pretty solid. What do you guys think?
