hex wrenches

Ok so now that i have 4 rtas and an rda on the way.
these free hex wrenches that are included, are a joke

i need one that is screwdriver sized for my big hands

so
1. does anyone know what size wrnch the griffin uses?
2. do most RTAs and RDAs use teh same size screw head?
3. anyone got a link to a good quality heavier duty hex wrench?

The problem is they're not hardened like name brands, like Bondhus. They're designed to fail before messing up the the set screws, but still too soft for necessary torque needs sometimes. I use a precision bit tip set that I have to work on my watches, but it is at work currently to give you a brand. Will do so later.

Walmart.com had quite a few, but most came with an assortment of bits, not just hex.

i know wiha makes a decent tool. I have several of their smaller precision flat heads i use very frequently. And I would just buy that one in the link but I need to be sure of the size...and i want \to order one with PRIME shipping so I know I get it in time before I leave on vacation next weekish

Well, I checked the size of the small set I got from FT, and the one marked .05 fits.

Using a torx bit on a hex head screw (or vice versa) is just asking to strip the head.

.050 and 1.5 are the most common size in attomizers.

MIP is the best you can find and probably the last ones you buy (unless you lose it or use it as a hammer) but they are not cheap

Just go to Homedepot, get a set of Hex tools with handles, will cost you $8 or so. Mine work just fine.

The Griffin and many others use a 1.27mm hex head. Bondhus makes a nice screwdriver in that size.

I do have a few attys that take a 1.5mm hex head.

And I have a few that use the tiny 0.9mm hex head. So if you have those 3 sizes you should be good to go.

I just drill a small hole in a dowel, and epoxy the wrench in.

I do, I havent had any issues yet but if I ever do Ill just break off the tip and file it flat...
