HIC's Heart of Andes recipe: smooth vanilla-mint, like the center of Andes' Mints candy

2% FA Peppermint
1% FA Vanilla Bourbon (Classic will work okay, but Vanilla Bourbon's better here)
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Fresh Cream
1% FA Marshmallow

Shake 'n vape! Velvety smooth immediately, with awesome vapor clouds. This can replace any Creme de Menthe flavoring, either standalone or in recipes. It's bold flavoring, so if you prefer light flavors, make this half-strength.

I am vaping this now. Mmmm
I am using my dripper and added a drop of FA Cocoa (mixed at 3% stand alone) to 3 drops of Heart of Andes. This is the real thing.
I have been vaping the recipe above as is and it's great. Thanks HIC!

I mixed this over the weekend, so here are my thoughts on it!

My intended mixture was 70% VG / 30% PG, and I used all Flavour Art flavorings just like the recipe calls for.
I used an app from the Google Play market to help me calculate the proportions for the ingredients.
Since it was my first attempt making juice, I crafted a 5ml bottle so as not to waste a lot of supplies.

Upon first mixing my bottle, I and my friend Justin thought it was missing something.
It wasn't terrible by any means, but wasn't quite there yet; too much mint, and not enough cream / vanilla.

For the second batch, I changed the peppermint from 2% to 1.5% and left the rest as they were.
Once this bottle was done, we tested it out and instantly fell in love! We think it's spot on! :D

I'd be interested in trying this as an entire Andes Mint flavor, including the chocolate.
Is that something you could craft, @HeadInClouds? Just amend the thread with that option, perhaps?

All in all, this is a great vape! Even before we lowered the peppermint it was still a good vape.
It just didn't taste quite right at 2% peppermint, so we dropped it down. Taste is subjective though.

:)

adding some of HIC's Swiss Bliss recipe to this may achieve the effect you're looking for.I'm gonna have to try this.

Beware of the acetyl pyrazine in Swiss Bliss if you add minty flavors! The ap sweetens and smooths chocolate+cocoa; mint also sweetens. You probably want much less ap.

Thanks for the tip HIC .I never thought of ap as a sweetner.

I don't have FA Peppermint but I have TFA Peppermint. Can I use the TFA and if so same percentage or higher?

I think that would work just fine in this recipe. It's not as creamy, but the cream ingredients will make up for it. To my taste, TFA's includes a little spearmint, but that's not totally out of place here, either. I'd even try the same percent to start with.

Having made this with both TFA and FA peppermint I would have to say that FA peppermint elevates it to "exceptional". The TFA is certainly not bad but only rates a 7 on my personal scale.

Do think that I could use FW Candy Cane instead of FA Peppermint?

This is excellent! I added swiss bliss to it without the AP and it was great! I still have to pick up some FA peppermint but I feel like FW candy cane did very good at 4-5%. I also made it a little stronger and mixed it with 50% more flavoring at 20/80vg. Thank you!

Kinda freaky - I made almost an identical mix with Caps around three weeks ago, but added 2 drops of menthol for a cool minty hit.
May just have to sort out my FA flavours and compare, thx HIC

I mixed some of this earlier this evening and have been vaping it out of my nautilus mini ever since. Warm water to thin the mix...shake...let cool...vape...EXCELLENT! Creamy smooth.

Been vaping this one all day.... Have to say that it is the best mint vape I've had. I'm one of those that likes a vape that is really in your face flavor. I made a mix of the flavors in a small bottle and tried it at 6% and the flavor was great but not quite strong enough for me. Jacked it up to 8% much better for me. May try a little koolada in it next. I really like this flavor. I was mixing max vg 3mg nic. May try a little pg next time as well.

Just made this and I really like it. I would like a little more vanilla flavor. Do you think I should increase the vanilla, decrease the peppermint or something else?

Whatever sounds best to you. You could just add a little more vanilla to that right now. No need to remix it in that case.
But if you want milder mint, mix a batch with less. It's not a finicky recipe - change it to suit your tastes.

I just didn't know if the vanilla came through more of if the peppermint decreased as it steeped.

Just steeping overnight has really rounded things out. I love this combination of mint and vanilla. I real nice change of pace.

This recipe is delicious! I added 2% INW dark chocolate and it's a spot on creamy andes mint.

For anyone wondering, this one is subohm friendly, I have it in an Origen v3 at .4 ohms and it's tasty ;)

It still sounds like an appealing flavor combo, don't know the strength on some of those, especially IA Caramel.

@HeadInClouds If I wanted to add some chocolate flavor to this could I use Maybe FA Cocoa 3% and FA Chocolate 2%? Or what would be your suggestion?

I'd keep the total of cocoa+choc at 2% or less so it doesn't smother the mint. 1.5% Cocoa with no chocolate would satisfy me.

I just mixed up 20mls. Hell, this recipe sounds so good I even used a fresh plastic bottle that normally are only used for recipes I always keep on hand(Seasoned). I wounder how a tad of Tiramisu would go with this(just a tad)?

I'd suggest trying some without additions first, just so you know where it's starting.
I'm on it Chef. I already mixed up the original. I would never put jelly on peanut butter if I never ate peanut butter before.;)
When you say shake and vape, is that literal or......? I have a empty tank standing by awaiting you orders.

It's literal for me! Try it. If it's too minty for you now, set it aside a day for the mint to mellow.

The mint is way up front, but I can see that after some steep time it's a always keep 30mls mixed in my box at all times juice.
