Here's an idea: if you have a dead Protank II, don't throw it away. You can reuse the base and make yourself spiffy eGo splint that costs nothing.
To do this, it's very easy: chop 3 mm off the top of the base (the section just above the airholes that the tank screws onto) and Bob's your uncle.
Additionally, you can polish away the brown coating with 0000 sandpaper and reveal the brass surface underneath. You can leave it all brown, turn it all brass, or just polish away one band, two bands, or even a checkered motif if you have the patience. I don't, so a single band was enough for me
