THE PHANTOM TANK BY HORIZONTECH
IN THE BOX:
The Phantom operating range is 30-70 watts using the new BTDC2 atomizer coils. These coils cannot be used with the Arctic and are at least 25% larger in size with 4 large e-juice windows towards the middle and 4 small juice windows at the top of the atomizer. It is constructed of 2 Pyrex tanks protected by 304 Stainless Steel that are separated by a side fill access, a mechanical cooling system, and an e-juice recycle system integrated built in the middle of the two tanks. The Phantom also has the normal bottom fill access where you change the atomizer and a no splash-proof/spit-back vapor channel.
There are a total of 6 windows per tank to clearly view your e-juice levels and 3 adjustable airflow windows. The 510 connection is clean and perfectly threaded. Finally the new wide-bore drip tip has about a 25% wider bore than the Arctic.
There is no information on how this mechanical cooling system operates. Probably a trade sercet
The juice recycle system operates by collecting e-juice blocked off in the no splash-proof/spit-back vapor channel. It then directs the e-juice back onto the atomizer.
The side fill option is convenient, but a little more time consuming than using the bottom fill.
REVIEW:
The Phantom is a huge leap forward from the Arctic for HorizonTech. This is the first tank I have ever used that can produce both great flavor and huge clouds. The 316L SS BTDC2 .2 ohm coils make a world difference for this tank. HorizonTech does plan on releasing a variety of different atomizers for the Phantom, ranging from different ohm, single coils, and temperature control coils
For best flavor and vapor, I recommend cranking your mod up to 70 watts. You will not be disappointed. Keep your bottle of e-juice handy because this tank, depending on the user, will probably need to be filled up twice a day.
The DIY atomizer is the money saver. You can get 26 gauge 316L Stainless Steel relatively cheap and the only tool that you will need is either nail clippers or a set precision cutters, everything else is provided. Also, you will need to pick up some organic cotton or other wicking material after your 2nd DIY coil, but that runs pretty on Amazon.
If you like to just change out atomizers go to VaporDNA.com for the best prices for replacement Phantom atomizers. Below are links to the different items you may or may not need for the Phantom tank.
RATING:
I give this tank a 9 out of 10.
Reasons I didn't give it a 10 is that the side fill is difficult to open and close, the tank gets hot after a 4-5 chain vape (cooling system gets tank cool relatively fast), if you're not careful you'll burn through the BTDC2 atomizer quick (assumed factors: length of hit, chain vaping, cool down time, and using dark thick juices), and it burns through juice (depending on user).
