Horizon Tech introducing yet another new tank...

As there last 3 offerings were comparative failures in the market they aren't waiting long to introduce their next sub ohm tank. Got to love the Cerakoat spelling to avoid trademark infringement on the Cerakote name. Personally, it looks like Horizon has resorted to just throwing new products out as fast as possible hoping something gets traction in the market place.

It looks like they've copied the Cleito, for the most part. The main difference I see is that they're using a triple clapton wrap for one of the coils and something called a "Mask" coil made from SS for the other. Any ideas on how that works? It looks like this on efun.top:

Mike Vapes has a review on it. I believe it also has a more typical 510 drip tip assembly compared to the Cleito.

I thought the Arctic V8 was a lesser alternative to the tfv4, but then they came out with the Tiger, Hive, and Snake coils. I ordered a Mini for under $20, which includes a Tiger and a Hive. I figured, for the price of a pack of tfv4 coils, why not. Also, these V8's are starting to appear in our local shops. They were understandably hesitant after the Arctic Turbo letdown.

Vapemail just arrived. And, instead of the Horizon Arctic V8, my box from Ecig.com included a Smok TFV4 Micro Kit, with 3 sizes of glass sections, a Clapton coil, an MTL coil, and a Clapton RBA, with the usual cotton, o-rings, and a little black screwdriver. Did I get the better tank? Retail prices are about the same.

I only have the full-size TFV4, but aside from the quad and octuple Claptons, I don't really care for it. Personally, I like the Snake and Tiger coils on my V8 mini better than any of the TFV4 coils, but I could care less about clouds. I'm all about flavor and I don't really care for a warm-to-hot vapor, which you've got to deal with to get proper flavor out of the TFV4. If you are into chucking huge clouds, then nothing I've got beats the Smok tank.

Try the Snake! Of the three specialized coils, it has the best flavor, followed by the Tiger, then the Hive. Clouds are inversely proportionate to flavor, in my short experience with the V8 mini, so if that's your thing then reverse the order. I was disappointed with the quad Clapton, and I haven't tried the octuple or the single/dual SS coils yet.

Thanks. I think I will ask them for a steep discount on the V8 and keep the Micro. Not sure if they will deal, but don't ask don't get.

The next big thing in tanks will be the temperature sensing coil with a sensor built in. From all the chatter on the tech side of the interwebs, it looks as if this will be coming soon. When you look at a lot of the coils out there, it's not a stretch to see that they are very muscular versions of tank cartomizers, vertical coils with wicking material packed around them. I think the huge, expensive coils will die off, Vapers have a problem with paying $25 for a pack of 5 coils, especially when they know the coils cost less than a couple bucks to make per 5 pack. That's one of the chief reasons I rebuild.

I have the v8 mini and got the hive and tiger coils with it , I prefer the Tigers they don't use as much power as the hive and have great flavor at 50 watts , tried the 4 coil duals , don't remember what the name was and good flavor also but let it sit overnight with a 70/30 juice and it flooded horribly , had to remove it and wrap in a cotton ball to get it clear . The hive and tiger has never had that issue , and for me the flavor is on par with the crown imo

Well, Ecig.com will take the SMOK Micro back, covering the shipment, even though it has been opened/used.

I first thought I did ok getting this tank, based on the reviews, but so far, it is not doing anything for me in the way of either flavor or clouds. Maybe it takes longer for the coils to break in. As a comparison, I vaped my og, full-sized tfv4 a few times today, presently using the TF-S6. No comparison, both flavor and clouds were alot better, and the S6 is probably not their best coil.

Maybe I try the 1.8 coil tonight, to see if it's real place is as a MTL tank that far exceeds the Nautilus or T22.

The scary thing, of my 10 tanks and 2 RDA's, only a couple are worth keeping around- tfv4, Herakles, H Plus, and the Kanger Mini as a work/beater tank. I've done better with mods, as these are all doing as intended.

OK, I've spent some time with this (supposed) TFV4 Micro. It does not screw into the mod correctly. The top fill is more than just a little stiff. The coils don't screw into the base easily. The drip tip looks different. The printing on the box looks light. Also, the juice tastes rancid in there (I know and like this juice), and the 1.8 coil gurgled like crazy.

It does have a certificate of authenticity. I'd say that was cloned too. No way is this a real TFV4 Micro, unless their quality has completely sh$t the bed.

I told Ecig.com I was returning this for the Arctic V8 Mini, but only if they were very sure it's authentic, and otherwise, let's not waste each others' time. We shall see soon enough. If it looks too good to be true, chances are, it is, so I am also accountable.

The mask coil is a machined coil similar to the Notchcoil for the Wismec Theorem. Instead of making the coil from wire they machine the coil from a tube to offer more consistency from coil to coil. In theory it should work well.

Interesting. Any idea what gauge the coil would be? Also, is there any special design to a Mask coil, like a Clapton, twisted, or the V8's coil, hive, and snake? Or is it just a round wire coil? One more question, does the fact that it's machined out of a cylinder leave it with a flat outer surface, giving it more surface space having a direct connection with the wicking element?

Sorry to be such a bugger. I don't rebuild due to the fact that my wife gets mad enough when I make her pause a movie so I can drop in a new coil or refill the tank, so she'd kill me if I started spending lots of time building my own coils. Therefore, I'm interested in as many different pre-built coil types that can get me as close as possible to the experience of rebuilding and all the options that entails.

Think of it as a sheet metal tube with leads on either end, and perforated slots staggered around the entire length. There is a Cuboid mini review that shows them rewicking the Joyetech version.

It really isn't all that exciting as it is functionally a parallel flat wire coil. Aesthetically it looks interesting due to the machining process making that parallel build from a tube.
