Hot Positive Post--RDA

I just recently entered the realm of RDAs and I'm loving it! In fact, I'm blowing huge clouds off my tugboat as I write this. I am concerned about one thing. It seems like my positive post is getting hot. It's not glowing red like some people I've heard about, but it seems to be vaporizing liquid and is changing color a little. The screw started out silver like the negatives and now looks kind of brass. By buddy said my ohm's are too low, but I'm at .46. I don't know if this is normal. Like I said, I'm happily vaping right now and maybe I should just go with it?

Maker of RDA, battery details, type of build. Your resistance is not to blame...and if your centre post insulator was dodgy, then you'd be venting your battery. More info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Franciscan. Tugboat RDA, purple Efest battery (2500mAh, 35A), sleeper coil.

Who made the Tugboat.....is it an authentic, clone? If it's a clone, who made it?

Lastly, if you could, post a pic of your build so we can look at the coil proximity to the centre post. Other than that, I can not vouch for that particular battery (or any 35amp battery). The data on the Purple Efest 35amp is inconsistent and I just dont know the characteristics under load. Best place to get opinions on that particular battery is in the appropriate forum here. http://vapingunderground.com/forums/battery-junkies.402/

Regardless, I would stop using that RDA. If the centre post is getting that hot, there is a good chance that the insulator is failing and will eventually cause your battery to vent. This is not a completely uncommon thing to have happen with Chinese made RDAs. I would much rather you bin an $18.00 RDA than have something unfortunate happen to you.

As a side note, if you are going to sub-ohm RDA's....stick to 30amp IMR's. I personally recommend the Sony VTC 4 (VTC 5's are getting very very hard to find, and when you DO find them, they are being sold by price gougers)
