How not to be duped by gateway effect claims

Thanks for the link research you do, 5150.. always some good reads.
My thinking on the kids thing is.. there is 'some' danger to the current wave of attention to vaping, and it will indeed draw some of them in (hey, its the 'new' thing). I highly doubt they would ever switch to cigs (all of us vapers would agree.. like.. why would they ?), but vaping itself can indeed become a habit/addiction. Had those kids been destined to become smokers, then for sure.. vaping is preferable.. but if we strive to keep vaping affordable and acceptable, does that not open the door to more kids 'hooked' on something (the habit of vaping, with or without nic).
Now, as a parent of a 13 and 8 yr old.. I'd rather not see them doing either. They're proud of me quitting cigs, but obviously see me vaping. Hard to say which direction they're going to take.
