CBS Television Studios and Television Academy Foundation have partnered to offer a new internship, the Star Trek Command Training Program, that will allow two college students per semester to be fully immersed in the production process of a Star Trek series.
This new internship will begin in Summer 2020 for both graduate and undergraduate college students nationwide and will "reflect
core values of inclusion and diversity."
Since Star Trek first aired on television in 1966, it has "challenged stereotypes by presenting a diverse and inclusive future and offering an optimistic outlook for interpersonal relationships." This internship is built on those values and will place two students on a Star Trek series and will "provide a 360-degree immersion in the production process of the 'Star Trek' universe."
