Humans: "Episode 2" Review

It would seem, after this second episode, that the different stories within Humans might start to interconnect more going forward as Niska's daring (and brutal) escape from the robo-brothel, Leo's injury en route to tracking down Anita, and the decision to return Anita to the Synth store all sort of represented an unexpected unraveling of those tales. In a way that suggests that things may begin merging sooner than expected.

"Episode 2" was a good follow-up to the premiere. Though Leo's story, and the fact that there are secretly sentient robots (including himself it turns out!) in a world where everyone is still going through, and dealing with, thoroughly complex human issues regarding standard-issue robots continues to feel like a big disconnect. George's story with Vera - his new Nurse Ratched-style cyber aid - is fascinating. And I love how prickly she is (or how prickly we interpret her to be) while she looks after his overall well-being. As if perhaps it's a slight glimpse into the future when computers enslave humanity for the "greater good." A "jailor" he called her as she physically forced him back indoors at night.
