Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
Humans began twisting and tearing apart the Hawkins family in wonderful ways this week as Joe discovered that Toby falsely admitted to sleeping with Anita, essentially covering for him just so Anita wouldn't be shipped off. In the end, out of everyone, and after several shifting debates about whether or not to send Anita back to her makers, it was Joe who was shuttled away from his own house. A really fun, crushing turn.
The larger story involving the A.I. code hidden among Elster's special Synths shuffled along, though now with the interesting pairing of George and Niska. Now George actually had someone "human" he could speak to for more than a few minutes. Someone formidable and who could go toe-to-toe with him on a philosophical level. And with Niska residing/hiding in his home came a look back into his own story and the reveal that he left Elster's original project because of his partner's A.I. aspirations. Also, we discovered that the grim, grand-standing Hobb was also one of the Elster's original think-tank buddies.
