I can't lock my tank

Good afternoon!

Yesterday my Smok V9 Max was delivered. It charged fine, I opened the tank and filled it...and now it won't completely close and lock. Holding down that tiny button and twisting didn't help. What am I doing wrong? I'd hate to have to ship it back to China!
