My DNA 200 Hcgiar VT200 Regulated Box Mod is great but I've been using a setting that is a temperature control disabled, no label material for kanthal, SS 316 wattage mode only optional coils, and Clapton coils. I even used nickel 200 for months until I checked. Nickel 200 is the first material automatically added to user profiles and produces the same vapor quality which I mean production AND taste as my dual 18650 mods. So I need an opinion if or why using older firmware that doesn't even distinguish Nickel 200 like most updates have for the past 10 months. Let me know if I can just easily download current curves for wattage only coils. Steam Engine isn't appropriate here because I didn't make these coils, I bought them from the manufacturer. I want an easy way to start my vaping safey.

You don't use curves for wattage only coils. In power mode the TCR is irrelevant. In wattage mode, the mod (any mod) fires the power you select as long as you hold down the fire button. The coil keeps getting hotter until you let go of the fire button.

That's the difference between TC and Power mode. Power mode just keeps applying the power you select. TC looks at the rise in resistance of the coil and varies the power to keep you at the temperature you select. The mod calculates the coil(s) temperature by the TCR of the coil material combined with the resistance rise.

PS I'm using the newest test firmware along with the newest version of Escribe and have been since sometime in February. I highly recommend it!
