Long story short -- Coil fires fine *with no tank* - Screw on the tank and nothing. Thought it was a bad base, so I grabbed another base. Same issue.

What could cause the *tank* to stop the coil from firing?

Nothing can. But if you leave the base on the device while threading the tank section on to the base, it could be over tightening the base onto the device and causing a short. Some device have cheesy little insulators in the 510 that when over compressed no longer perform their designed function. The iJust 2 also has a rubber seal at the base of the chimney to seal against the top of the coil. The tank is notorious for loosening the coil from the base when it is removed. But that doesn't match your description of the problem.

This is why I'm confused as hell about this. Put it (the base in question) on a different tank and all is fine. Put it back, nothing. Same thing with eLeaf, Nautilus, Vaporesso & Tobeco coils.

I was figuring that even if the (plastic of some sort) in the chimney had worn through it *still* wouldn't cause anything. I'm stumped.

It's been haunted or something....
