Well... looks like I need to clean up sometime. This is what happens when you rebuild, trade gear, DIY and whatnot regularly. D:

I just got the PAPs v4 yesterday..I was going to get the MCR 101, but after them taking a month to tell me it was going to be another week I cancelled my order with them, and ordered the PAPs...Vapour Art had the mod to me in 10 days....I friend just gave me the MCR 303..I haven't built it yet just got it yesterday. I was thinking of getting the Nanos but MMV seems to be closing down on their tube mods....

You made a great choice. I LOVE GP MODS, not only are they beauties, well made, but you cant ask for better after care. They do ship fast, they are willing to do custom finishes. Perseas is such a wonderful MODDER. If you have a problem he do not run you thru the ringer, blaming everything on you, the user. He replaces or fixes and bends over backwards to make you more than happy.

I love my MCRs, but aftercare? I dont think they understand what that means and they're Brits that speak english, but not the same customer service language.

You are gonna love the PAPS V4, I have controlled myself and resisted the V4. I did get a pair of the switches.. I have way too many PAPs 2.5s.

Im very tempted to get that MCR 303 atty, its a LOT like the Origen genesis MK ... whatever and can be set up with a vertical cotton wick. But I have to resist.

Let me know how it performs and if you have an Origen V3 dripper, let me know how the taste compares.

Oh, and yes, its too sad that MMV is not making tubes anymore. They seem to be set on their Dryad and the new one. It a beauty, but a bit too pretty for me. I do like the Kainos, its more simple and 60 watts is more than I need. Their tube mechs were amazing. I miss out on them. I wanted a Nanos.

well I don't want to start a shitstorm, but I have no intrest in doing bussiness with MCR after my experinces with them.......Yeah one of the reasons I went with GP was the switch, and they have been around forever and I figure they will contine to be and so getting replacment parts would be easier.
I think you got the MCR 303 confused with some other atty...the 303 is sort of like the RSM rocket but only 20 mm...it has a single maybe 2.5mmwickhole and a 1 or 1.5 mm airhole.....I just got the origenv2mkII I'm still playing around with it...it is the only dual coil genny I ever considered buying.....I'm pretty much a genisis user so , no I don't have many drippers...though I recently got a cascate by I think cartel mods...and that thing is a hoot.

LOL, but sorry.... I feel your pain. MCR are really nicely made, but.... as you found out, really suck as a company. The GP devices have a much better 510 connection and you can take it apart like a good revolver and clean the crap out of it. MCR has a old style 510 adj pin, better than the orig GP brass/ screw thing, but the
GP GPIN is great.

Have to add, for me, the looks, popularity or how "train like" a device hits or cool factor takes back seat to customer care and detail to finishing ( threads, insulators, switch safety)

I always hesitate to purchase any new device, especially ones from overseas. My night mare is having to argue with arrogant S.O.B.s from Greece ( GG )
especially if youre a nobody or heaven forbid a female.

Or companies like Mini Ecig ( also an SOB ) he actually insulted me by saying something derogative like because youre a woman.... on top of waiting for weeks, months for a device to be sent with a melted insulator and waiting almost 3 months for new insulators that he charged me for.

You cant go wrong with GP, GUS, MMV, Provari and a few others. Im sure there are many others out there with more than great experiences with after care.

Top pic of your box mod. The two screws look like squinty eyes, fire button a nose and the screen like a mouth. I might be a little crazy but I looks like a happy mod to me.

OH, thought you all were seeing a "spirit-ghost" in the photo. LOL, I think the box also has a happy little face.....

yeah I wanted to get the rhodium plated G pin. hey maybe you can help me out, all of my attys sit down on my v4 no problem...but I have a Pulse G genny and it won't screw down all the way...I have to adjust the 510 pin down to make it fire...I'm wondering if maybe the threading on the paps is not quite clean...I suppose the threading on my PUlse could be bad, but it seems to work with my other mods.

Yeah well Imeo always did have a reputation for being a bit of a jerk to everybody not just women......About 6months ago I wanted to buy a BMG22 made by flow engineering...and there was no place selling them, I asked on another forum if anybody had seen them anywhere, and the modder a guy named Francesco di Marchi got in touch with me and traked one down for me, in Italy and went through all kinds of hoops to get one to me....If Francesco make any more attys I would buy one sight unseen because of his customer service....and well the atty is a great atty....I agree I want to be able to get replacement parts easily, and ask questions...and deal with people that are grateful for your bussiness.

Perseas studies what the standards are at the time of designing the latest device. He sees what the standard post lengths of the atties are popular at the time.

Some companies make the 510s a tad shorter or longer usually to go with their MODs are so they fit perfect. Sometimes that doesnt work well with others.

GP usually sends a little bag of extras that contains an extra spring and pin. The extra pin is most likely shorter or longer to accommodate differences in battery lengths or atty 510 connections. If switching the pin does not help, you can trim the extra silver plated spring just a tad shorter. You trim off one of the curves or similar to a coil wrap. Id start with just half a coil, and go from there if the shorter or longer pin still does not help get your atty flush.

They also sell a pin set that comes with 4 or 5 different lengths of pins to pretty much cover all atties.

GP Parts and accessories
If you order get the Lux set:

The GPin Lux Pin Set has 5 silver plated brass pins with +15 micron silver coating (no1 is the very short pin and no5 is the very long one). The set covers every combination

GP spring

trim one of the little coils on this spring, I hope this helps. I have bought so many newer GPs and old GPs that I have so many lengths of the 510 pins, I did buy the LUX set just in case....

These are the pins, (part that touches the battery, should have or at least used to come with one longer and one shorter.

PS. If you still need more help you can contact him on the "evil ones" ECF forum or PM him on Facebook and if you dont do either send him an email, he usually responds, such a nice young man.

I should take the pin out altogehter nd see if the atty will sit down flush..if it does then I'll know if it's the pin length or whether the threads are screwed up.

Dont hesitate to let Him know if its the threads. He take a lot of pride in quality checks etc, but once in a while, since after all , all their device are hand finished, brushed, polished and put together by different people and its human to get distracted and miss something.

He will take care of you. PM me if you need me to help out, he kinda knows me after all these years, well thru ECF and FB.

PS, just went thru my stash and I do have two pins that are extras. I like to keep 2 extra sets just in case I drop things down the drain....

Let me know if I can send them your way.....

Thanks alot ..it could be my atty I've had it for years and it seems the threding on the GP has alot less slop in them than most of the devices I have..thanks for your help.

No problem, I dont have a lot of devices, but those that I do have I like to know as much as I can and try to keep spares...

The people over at the GP thread at ECF are so nice and so close , everyone is constantly sending parts to others in need. I used to have a LOT MORE, it was ridiculous. It doesnt cost much to mail a few bits and bobs.

I just took the pin out altogether it seems that the 510 connection on my Pulse G is just too long ....hope I didn't fuck up my top cap trying to get that thing to sit down...I guess that's not the atty for the v4....the switch on this thing is just great.

Well I hope you didnt mess up your top cap, but if you did, he does refinish and repair for a very reasonable price. He offers to refurbish any of his MODS old and new for a very low price. Its cheaper to send it in for a "face lift" than to replace some of the parts.

I should send in my X's. Man I use the crap out of them, Ive dropped them on the floor, into cups of coffee and pepsi, dropped them on a large Pepperoni pizza once. Shorted out an atty or 2, with no working damage. They are beaters but surprisingly really dont look that beat, no gouges or deep scrapes.

I'm not really stuck on how things look scratches don't bug me if the thing preforms well. I like the aesthetic of the X alot but isn't it like 23mm.....I like the finish on the tube.
