INR Samsung 18650

I ordered 4 INR Samsung 18650 batteries about 3 months ago. I've been using them for about 2 1/2 months now. I've alternated using the batteries in pairs. I've accidently ran them down on my Seglei 100w with a Kanger SubTank .05. I generally run about 37-40w 4.7w. After two months of use both sets of batteries are acting up. 1 set is dead and the other set has one battery that displays charged but isn't fully charged. I am using the Efest 6bay charger. Am I running down so bad that they are dying after two months of use? Is there a way to tell how much of the battery on the Seglei 100w or just the battery capcity meter.

Your best bet is to use a multimeter and measure the voltage of your battery that shows charged and see the reading.

Your Sig 100 will run them down to about 3.3v before you get a cutoff or low batt warning, that's what mine does. Shouldn't affect the charge like what you're seeing. That charger should be able to condition your batteries. I'd get a another 2 sets, preferably from liion whole sale or imrbatteries.com.

I picked up a set of Efest IMR18650's from the local B&M store and there working. The charger does great showing what level the batteries are I'm glad the s100 shuts off the battery before it drains it too far. So technically speaking even if I run the battery down to 0 on the s100 I'm not hurting the batteries? I'll order another set from imrbatteries and see if they last longer.

Any guess as to how may charge/discharge cycles? They "should" be good for hundreds. It doesn't sound like you are being hard on them...

That seems unusual. INR batteries can be damaged by discharging them too far, but a Siggie shouldn't do that. Mine doesn't, anyway, it boots them about 3.3V an that's fine. That's a good charger, too, but I am wondering if maybe you got a bad one or something. Do you always use the same slots? Try moving them and seeing if that changes anything. And get a DMM to check battery voltages.

I think I found the problem. The charger is saying that two of the batteries are at full charge however when I put them in the seigeli they are showing less than 50%. I tried different slots on the charger and came out with the same results. Another odd thing is that if I place two paired batteries in slot 1 and 2 whatever battery I put in first will show full charge and the other will show charging at 4.2. If I change them around the battery will say 3.75. I'm going to ask the shop I bought it from about it and see what they say. It's only 3 months old and I cleaned the contacts with a little bit of rubbing alcohol and still the same results.

The Efests are slightly finicky in how they deal with putting a fully charged battery in, sometimes they'll show fully charged and sometimes they'll be able to put in just a tiny bit more. That part I don't think is abnormal. The other part where sometimes they'll say 3.75, is obviously a problem, especially if your sigelei is right and they really are only 3.75-ish.
