HEADS UP... here is the new announcement from Pioneer4You... a second version of the iPV (the iPV2s) to be released soon.

I have to hand it to these guys they sure are worker-bees. If you want more info check out the YouTube link below to see this second, newer version of the iPV... the iPV 2s.

It is a bit hard to understand Denny's english in the video but here is what is revealed:
The sx330 v2s chip in this version is upgradeable via USB firmware downloads.
You can customize the screen image (somehow) using the USB and a computer. Hmmm.
The mod will run up to 60 watts at the time of the release and by the end of the year it will be upgradeable to 70, 75, even up to 80 watts.
Apparently, and I don't know how they did this, but the ipv2s is now water resistant. (!?!?!?!) Yep. Check it out in the video. He drops the damn thing in water and fires it up and it runs!!!
There appears to be NO battery air vent on the bottom (of this demo unit) so I am not sure if it uses a single 18650 battery of uses some sort of internal sealed lithium battery.
The three buttons on the side have a new polished, recessed area design and look very nice. The buttons are now more BB shaped than the prior flat topped ones on the iPV2.
The box dimensions appear to be the exact same size as the iPV2.
This new model has a nice look to finish and edging... like it is polished and appears to have no gaps around back plate. I assume it has some sort of rubber gasket or seal as well.
The back panel screws are now much bigger (still 2 screws but they look much more manageable).
The demo unit in the video shows the same touch fire button but he mentions that there will NOT be a touch fire on this new model.
No mention of price or release date yet.

I am not sure if I applaud or cringe at their announced release of this version so soon after the iPV2 (july 18th) and the expected ship date for their 100 watt version. Are they shooting themselves in the foot and gonna tick off new iPV owners (by dangling something snazzier) or are they simply cashing in on the recent buzz about their product and company (before their 15 seconds of fame passes). BTW... If you hadn't heard the iPV3 (100 watt) will be out Aug 30th. It has a slightly different design to box (wider) because it has dual 18650's. it does have the touch fire button. And they say it will have USB upgrade to 150w by end of the year.

Chime in... thoughts?

Here is another video from another P4Y employee (Evan). Same info basically but a closer look at this demo box.

Couple quick updates....
I noticed NO P4Y logo at all on this model. No laser engraved labels on the side buttons either.
It does still have that side semi see-through black P4Y logo panel (maybe there is something in the works - like a bigger screen - for the future?)
There are two color versions shown. Black with silver button (very sharp!) and a solid silver one with silver matching buttons.
When no atomizer is on the unit it reads 0.0 ohms (which is different than the iPV2 which reads 1.0).
This version reads "check atomizer" if no atty is attached and fire button is pressed.
The back panel screws appear to be 6 angle (not phillips head).
I am unsure now about the bottom battery air vent thing. The demo box shown in this video has them.
Again, the iPV2s apparently IS water resistant. He tosses it in and then fires it up. Go figure.

Apple will sue them for using the "s". :) Definitely something to keep an eye on.

Not really sure about the battery vents.
One video shows (what appears to be) a unit without vents and dunked in water.
The second video shows a unit WITH vents and also dunked in water. SO... i am a bit perplexed.

i like the way this is heading, listened to customers, made quick changes, and got it to the market. this one looks much better with upgrade able chip too but need to make sure it vents. water proof and water resistant are different though so there probably is still venting

Just an incredibly dumb idea unless they've also invented a waterproof Atty and found a way to breath underwater.

lol yea i thought about that when he said you can use this device underwater. but a lot of ppl were worried about getting ejuice inside the wiring and they went the extra mile and made it water resistant (or proof idk) thats a good thing as long as it vents

Good point about water resistant and water proof. Still I cant figure out IF there are vents how they are protecting a battery from water while also allowing it to breath. And I agree, if there are no vents then where does battery heat go? Hmmm.

Still, I an impressed that they seem to be listening to the consumer... at least for the dual battery on iPV3, the upgradeable chip on ipv2s and ipv3, and fixing those tiny battery door screws.

theoretically you could have a cone type thing that is sealed and would only open in one direction if air pressure is applied to it in that direction. thats what came to mind for me at least

Assholes lol, they are doing what most companies do , releasing new products that they think will sell , they don't give a rats ass if you just bought a 50 watt non upgradeable model.

Everyone has had plenty of time to determine if a 50 watt device was going to meet their needs and if 50 watts was enough for you then you bought it , why are there now some who need even more wattage , i sure don't.

Everyone knows companies are going to be continually putting out more impressive mods , thats no secret , if one doesn't suit you and you need a different feature than wait , if the device being offered fits your criteria then be happy with it.

P4U is going down the same road as Penn fishing reels did , Penn made a huge mistake in demonstrating at the" I Cast " conference last year that their new spinning reel was watertight , well it wasn't and it still isn't and their rep took a HUGE hit because of overzealous marketing claims.

I am a Penn Field tester so i have some insight , P4U sounds like it's going down a similar road with dropping it in water and then showing it still works , thats being waterproof not water resistant . Water resistant means it can handle a light drizzle , dropping it in water is implying it's waterproof , dumb move.

Penn had hundreds of reels sent back to them because everyone assumed it was waterproof when it really was not but the problem was everyone treated it like it was , a real return nightmare developed .

The 100 watts one is already being pre-ordered. I don't get this unless these have not been upgraded and they just want to get something out?If they are the same price as the 50 maybe just for the "upgradable board"...?

Its water proof lol, let me take it down to 120 meters when doing a repair. I'll see how water proof it is. It's water resistant not water proof.

thats what i thought scuba, water resistant is more than a light drizzle it has to do with the depth of water pressure it can handle so if you drop it in the water and pull it out youll be good with something water resistant

also this being water resistant means they fixed that 510 screw problem

Water proof??? It has vent holes right so how does that work. You can coat the board to make it moisture proof that's about it. LOL

A watch is water tight has seals it does not have holes that water can get in...I collect watches too. LOL

What bothers me is vaper tek says the ipv2 is user upgradable and it's clearly NOT. I got the ipv2 thinking it was because I emailed the vendor 1st. And now I got a unit that's not. Seems like false advertisement.

I had heard some vendors say that too. They listened to what the runners for the manufacturer probably had said. This is why you have to do your own research and not go by vendors. All they know is what they are told.Improvements are ongoing on these boards. By the time they are shipped a new version is already in the works. I looked at it like this why would you make the first boards upgradable when the idea is to sell more. The only way to make something off them is to sell tons at this price point. And upgrading to 100 watts is useless anyway with just a single battery....

True. One battery is insufficient for a 100 watt box mod (unless you plan to swap batteries 3x a day). A 50 watt box will be a certain size and weight and have certain limitations. A 100 w box will follow suit and have to be bigger (for obvious reasons). For size reasons I sort of like the 50. Having said that I already have plans to get the 100w not for size of the clouds but for the battery life. (Somebody stop the madness before i go bankrupt!)

Per earlier comment about false advertisement. I think it is important that the consumer take time to research carefully before making a decision on buying a mech or mod (as this is such an ever changing and developing market). I personally take time to watch manufacturing videos (and if the product is already out) online reviews (from respected folks). I do the same with cars, tvs and computers... why not with my mod equipment?

This is just me but I took time to ask P4Y plenty of questions about the iPV2 before it came out. (They are very approachable, by the way.) I also did some research on the iPV3 and tried to pass that info on to others here so folks who care about how they spend their money are informed. I want to know exactly what i am getting before i spend the cash. Again, just my opinion but I rarely believe the word of a vendor as many of them are vying for profit while they can grab it. (ie... We saw a couple vendors who repeatedly deceived folks about the iPV2 preorder. What a shame.). BTW...I seem to remember reading a P4Y facebook post specifically about vapertek.

I will say that I have mixed emotions about the iPV2s announcement. Excitement and Frustration. I think it is great that they are pushing for further innovation. I like that they are listening to the pro and con feedback from the consumer. Perhaps it is a smart thing for them to take advantage of the timely spotlight, while they have it, to toss out a few more boxes before the next king of the mountain shows up and out does them. Will it piss some folks off to be outdone/outdated so quickly? Sure. Will it excite others who watched the feeding frenzy about the iPV2 but didn't pull the trigger and maybe sway them to by the iPV2s or the iPV3... maybe.

The upside of all this is... the vape community is growing by leaps and bounds. We are getting better and better products and for that I am grateful.

The waterproof feature may be in response to the "touch" sensor button issues.
When the touch sensor gets wet, it will continuously fire. I saw it on Youtube and then discovered it by accident later.

Just watched the video the ipv2s looks to be the same size so it's not a dual battery?Just a board upgrade and cosmetics ( why don't they just use large philips !!!) I was thinking it would be the dual like the 100 watts box.So really if you upgrade it to 100 big deal you still have to carry more batteries if used above 50-60 watts.I don't feel so bad now if it's not dual batteries, would like to have the SX-350 chip but I will wait until Oct. for the 150 watts box. LOL And nice water trick. So does that mean when juice goes down the door into the unit it will be good. The one thing I would like to see is the top being a solid piece no gap where the door is.Like the Hana v3.Maybe v5..

i like the touch fire as an idea but I turned it off and really don't use it. I like the improved look too. Agreed on the screw thing. (They could have chosen magnets though) They added a plastic seal gasket around the inside of the back door (for juice leak issues and to make it water tight).

Bottom line, I am skipping the iPV2s and waiting on the iPV3 for the dual battery. Waterproof/resistant isn't a big issue for me. I can deal with a bit more weight and a little larger size for longer battery time. Of course the upgradeable feature is worth the wait too. 100w out of the box and 150 by year end is pretty amazing.

I have the iPV2 and I think its cool they are making these little upgrades. Seems like they are quick to respond to criticisms some of the reviewers have made. I am totally happy with mine but if it konks out in the warranty period maybe they will let me upgrade.

I understand what u r saying about the one battery not good for 100watts. But being told it would b upgradable, and not being sucks. Never said I wanted 100 watts. Hell mayb 60. Idk. But when I go to buy a cell phone or car. I trust a vendor for specs. I don't contact apple or the Chevy plant lol. U shouldn't have to contact p4y. Budkiss even has said ipv3 has step down and now it doesnt "from what iv seen"

I'm vaaaping in the rain, I'm vaaaping in the rain! Lol.

Whether water resistant or water proof, let's be honest. Other than spilling juice on it, rain-vaping is the only practical reason I can think of for a mod to be water tight.

For the impractical/improbable: Is anyone asking manufacturers for the need to shower+vape? Are ppl really forgetting their mod in their pocket and throwing it in with the laundry?!! I guess if u drop it in the toilet, your ipv2s will still work... Just change the atty for your sake!

It does concern me if it sacrifices venting. I REALLY hope for the vaping community that p4u didn't trade battery safety by making it waterproof instead. Accidents = bad publicity! Even if they did somehow get around the need for vents, what if there's a catastrophic battery event WHILE its underwater!?

I still can't figure out why they put the vents in an area that gets covered as soon as you sit it down .

Thats been my #1 complaint but it probably isn't a big deal since the Cana mod has no vents that i can see , unless you consider that small hole on the bottom (it's not even lined up with the chip so no venting)

Why would the vent hole be lined up with the chip? The hole is lined up with the battery as it should be.

I don't think it matters what they are lined up with as long as pressure in the battery compartment has somewhere to go. I think they just tend to put them on the bottom because generally the bottom is pointed away from you when in use.

Waterproof and water resistant mean two entirely different things, also, P4U is gonna keep releasing product and if you bought an earlier product due to impatience or are simply upset because they decided to release something newer and better than that's your problem.

I don't get upset when they release a newer computer or newer car or newer TV every year. I find the one i like and i get it.
It is a rather expensive habit to always have the latest and greatest thing available. My pocketbook can't keep up with the Jones'
I'm sure glad my wife doesn't live by that principle. I would have been replaced a long, long time ago.

I wasn't referring to you Budkiss but you're a dick anyway because you tried fucking with Elev8's sales and that just ain't cool. Granted they were taking a long time to ship units and experiencing some problems but they are still receiving units from P4Y when you said that they would no longer receive any units. They have lots of happy customers and lots of unhappy impatient customers. I dropped my order with them and still think they are a decent business trying to make ends meet. They were quick to refund me and always quick to respond to questions. They hopped in the IPV game rather late and were probably pushed back by P4Y.

Thanks for the 'kind' words. I won't lower myself to that level and reply accordingly.

Since you don't have your facts straight allow me to clarify a bit... I never intentionally went after elev8. I simply relayed the facts given to me from P4Y (while I was researching the iPV3 specs). I didn't give a rip about them until their fan boys and groupies decided to jump me for pointing out the vendor issue and subsequent dishonesty.

The facts are simply this: They got in trouble for selling the iPV2 too cheap. (P4Y sets a strict MSRP. I guess you noticed how quickly everyone else changed their price around that same time.) This particular vendor got warned to stop underselling their product, then they ignored the warning and continued to offer their "coupon". They got caught again and then got a 20 day penalty delay in shipment. They still didn't change their MSRP so P4Y dropped them and refused to warranty their product. That is their policy. The same thing happened last year with another vendor and the P4Y tube mod.

I have every bit of this confirmed by P4Y management in writing. (Where exactly are you getting your facts?)

Since they had so many preorders to honor and many impatient customers to appease Elev8 got there entire final shipment of iPV2's from another store in White Plains NY. The shipping manifest (their pic is censored btw) proves this. (Did you notice the different zip code in destination?) On top of that the serial numbers of the boxes they shipped out recently prove that they were bought by another vendor. To cover their ass Elev8 has offered to warranty these units in house (since P4Y has blacklisted them). Shouldn't that be a sign

I am glad to hear you had a good experience with them. Many folk have. I simply detest dishonesty in business. I think integrity is important in every aspect of life. IMO All this vendor had to do was admit what happened and ask folks to be patient while they found a solution. Most folks would have understood and stuck with them. Instead they denied everything and tried to cover it up.

I don't mind your disagreeing with me on these points but to jump to some character assassination is a bit much, don't you think?

I am reminded of a great quote, "Contempt prior to investigation leaves a man forever ignorant".

To keep it safe if you accidentally drop it in the toliet ... ;)

Indeed, I've dropped more stuff out of my shirt pocket into the toilet while bending over than I'd like to admit. I have also dropped my vv/vw device into the lake while bending over to pickup a shell so the water proof / water resistant feature is perfect for someone like me. :)

I personally spoke with a rep from elev8 prior to my Ipv2 shipping... The discussion regarded a person with the alias budkiss spamming elev8 to benefit himself. I'm with many other readers.. Budkiss needs to give it up because his opinions regarding anything Vape related are totally disregarded by many readers on many different forums. Stop while you still have some dignity alias budkiss.

Water proof means air proof - battery vents - mod goes bang.
Not a great idea.
Water resistant and proof are 2 different things. But who knows what they meant until it's reviewed.

Also that's not entirely true as the past few years the past year especially . There is a micro film coating that they've been using on phones that isolate the electronics but allow venting . It's being used on all kinds of cameras and phones.

Here is another video from another P4Y employere (Evan). Same info basically but a closer look at this demo box.

Couple quick updates....

It does still have that side semi see-through black P4Y logo panel (maybe there is something in the works - like a bigger screen - for the future?)

Go figure.

The only thing I noticed is my current IPV V2 states "check atomizer" if nothing is attached seems kinda silly but I can see why P4Y would do this what concerns me, is the 100w box going to have the same upgrade ability or will it be "As is box" like the current IPV V2 and I have tried to connect to the current IPV V2 with the Yihi softw.are and you cannot... hmmm

mine has number L260 under the cover and it's the black one. I have never seen it say check atomizer. I have seen that a million times on my tobeco dna30 because of a bad ground from the threads on the tube being so short. its like 3/4 of a turn to get all the way tight. it would be a great mod if it had twice as much threading.
