IPV D2 Resistance Read Out

Hello all,

Im aware that the IPV D2 has had some issues with fluctuating resistance in temp control mode but mine does it in normal power mode with a Kanthol coil. With a Kanger .5 coil, it reads between .059 - .064, is this related to the fluctuating resistance issue with temp control? After using the it for a while, the resistance will usually lower and hold. Also, can the resistance be locked in power mode? If I hold the two buttons it elk usually lower the resistance. When I put the same tank on my Subox mini and IPV mini I am getting a flat reading of .06, is this something that should be addressed via the warranty service?

Nothing ever works right for me.

Thanks for the reply and setting my mind at ease. I have noticed that the coils never read like they are supposed to. To date, out of all the replacement coils I have purchased, I'm not sure if I have ever had one read out correctly. I know, I should be using the RBA section but for some reason I can't run it over 20 watts without getting the burned hit of death. As for Kanger tanks in general, I really like them and have yet to find something I like better. I have had the Crown, Aspire Triton and Ego one (came with my evic used it once) and none of them really do it for me or had issues.

Edit to add - I still am curious, does holding the plus and minus buttons in normal power mode do anything or is that reserved for temp control?

If you put it in power mode locking resistance does nothing. There is no "issue" with the D2 resistance readout fluctuating. It's supposed to do that.

The best thing I ever did was throw my STM away and get a Crown. Not even in the same league. I can't possibly imagine what you like better about the Kanger or why you put the Crown down. It's better in every possible measure.

The crown was just too much for me. I couldn't get the airflow the way I liked it and seemed to work best at 60 watts and above, I usually vape at between 35 - 45 watts. I agree, the crown tank is superior to the Kanger... Is it possible for something to be too superior?

So, how come my IPV mini and Kanger read it at .06? Is IPV D2 just more accurate than the other two?

Yes, that would be the one problem it has. If it's too much, it's too much. No point in neutering it. Mine can make clouds. And I've gotten used to more. But now the newness has wore off, I still vape like I did. I don't have to hit it like a fire hose. But ya, I get it.

Other like the 1.2 coil for the Crown. It's a single. Maybe you could try that.

I only had my crown tank for a few days before I sold it. I never even tried the 1.2's... I replaced it with a Kanger Subtank plus ni200 black model that so far I like. The nickel coils don't seem so great but I'm still on the fence with the whole temp control thing.
