"PM sent" in and of itself means NOTHING. It could be a PM asking a question, or making a low-ball offer, or asking for trades, etc.
Now, if "I will take it, PM inbound" or similar were to be posted, that- to me- represents acceptance of the sellers terms, and to then step in might be considered bad form, except to ask for second consideration if the first deal falls through.
