I'm not the best at making a long story short but I'll make an earnest effort.
The IPV4 mod, as good as it is, had a problem common to a number of the devices. It would drain one of the batteries in very short order. Mine was three months old when this occurred. This was when I found out that Asmodus, long the warranty repair company servicing IPV products was no longer doing so for reasons they are not shy about making public,
With a little snooping (and the help of a fabulous vendor) I contacted KMG Imports LLC. A simple online form with predictable proof of purchase accompanied the RMA request which I downloaded from their website. A couple of day later, they called, saying they would not have a silver model for a few days and could they replace it with a black IPV4s. I said fine but confessed that I sent in the older IPV4, not the newer 'S' model. Today (and less that a week after sending it into their shop in California), I received a brand new, factory-sealed IPV4s. No questions asked.
I am beyond pleased to get this kind of service from a company handling warranty problems and to those considering the purchase of an IPV product, I can only urge them to just buy it without qualms.
Regarding that fabulous vendor, that would be VU sponsor Wake & Vape, from which I have purchased three devices, all of which happened to b manufactured by IPV and would (and will) do so again. Ashley, the proprietress, not only offers stellar customer service, but also straight-shooting, honest opinions on the products she sells in her blog at Wake & Vape. If something is crap (like the door on the IPV D2 I purchased from her) she says so. And she's right; the door is fairly crappy but it's still a great device.
That's my opinion for what it's worth. And the was the short version.
