IPV Wattage/joule Locked

I'm having an issue with my IPV5 where I can't adjust the wattage/joules. I've tried taking the batteries out yadda yadda yadda.

"Adjust Wattage and Joules

Under standby mode, press the + then - button to enter adjustment mode"

Above is from the manual. From time to time mine gets locked up. When it happens I just start pushing buttons until it starts adjusting. Maybe just pushing the plus the minus once will do it? I guess I'll have to wait for the next time it locks up to try.

I'm assuming standby mode is when the screen is blank?
