IPV5 Joule Question

I just ordered an IPV5 and am a little confused about the difference between watts and joules. If I put a .15 Kanger Ni200 coil in my tank that cool is rated between 30 and 50 watts. How does that translate into joules? Everything I've found online about converting to joules has a time component expressed in seconds. Anyone anyone?

What I did was take the average time that I take a draw on the mod and used it in the equation you mentioned to get the average wattage. But you can't truly convert Joules to Watts. What this setting does more than anything is control how fast the mod ramps up when you press the fire button. At least that's how I see it when using my IPV3Li.

A joule is 1watt for 1second.
You must have a time element to 'see' it on an Oscope.
You can use interchangeably with watts.
I think Yihi used joules to distinguish itself from DNA in Tc mode,,lawsuits???

I agree with marco67. The way joules are used in mods today they are the same as watts. It's not scientifically correct, but it is what it is.
