IPV5 or RX 200?

So a coworker's D2 screen took a crap and he needs a replacement. Looking for a 2 cell or more TC mod.

I like the specs of the ipv5 but would hate to recommend the same manufacturers mod when a faulty sceen is his reason for buying a replacement.

2 cells will get him through the day, a little slimmer than the RX, TCR and is updateable. Checks all the boxes but I haven't seen much about it (or haven't paid attention).
Anyone have issues with their ipv5?

I can recommend the RX 200 without hesitation but I do think he'd like a smaller chassis... but man I'd feel like an ass if I directed him to the ipv and it took a shit on him a few months later.

Thanx in advance for the input.

I have both and love them.

I was carrying around the RX200 yesterday, not something I normally do as I have a VF Stout as well but I was in a hurry and it was the first thing I could grab quick. For carrying around the RX200 would be the last thing I would take, it didn't fit well in my pocket and is heavier. For carrying around the IPV5 would be a better choice, it is not that much lighter but being slimmer it fits in my pocket better.

Keep in mind that the IPV5 does not have charging via the USB, the RX200 does if that makes any difference to your friend.

I have to give the performance edge to the IPV5 at higher watts. With most tanks it won't be that noticeable but with the Crown and 0.25 ohm coil the IPV5 just gives an instant power shot when running above 60 watts.

He can't go wrong with either one though IMO, if I had to pick only 1 for myself it would probably be the IPV5 though.

I have both these mods. I can vouch for both of them.
The RX200 is a true true 200w mod so if your friend needs that extra power and battery life and doesn't mind the size then he should choose this one. But bear in mind that with this mod you'll need a dedicated charger like the nitecore i4 charger (this is also recommended by wismec themself) there are absolutely no faults with this mod or any problems which I had.

The IPV5 is also an excellent choice but it isn't a true 200w mod (it uses PWM) the size of this mod is great and the shape makes it very ergonomic. The device works great but it is a fingerprint magnet of note. The only con I can find which isn't really a con would be that there's no lock screen mode so the screen comes on whenever you fire. Other than that this is a great device. This is the perfect device if your friend isn't looking for something too heavy. I did hear that P4Y is going to release an update which will allow you to put a personalised picture like the DNA200. Another feauture included here is the Pure Technology which P4Y will release a tank to make use of this function.

So basically either one is good device, the IPV5 allows for more customization and a little extra feautures while having a more ergonomic design and form factor.
The RX200 has more power and battery life but has a very nice feel in the hand.

Another worthy mention to add to your list will be the joyetech cuboid, if your friend wants something cheaper and small than this is the mod to get. Works well although not as good of a quality as the other two but still a great mod.

Yeah, seems right for him. He has a charger and runs a crown. I do think he will see a noticeable difference in how a 2 cell mod pushes it.

I need a 3 cell mod to get through the day but he doesn't vape as much as I do. I mix juice and go in on cheap juice vendor orders with him and he vapes 1/2 as much as I do.

He, like me wears a suit to work and while I love my RX200 it really doesn't like to be put in suit pockets lol.

For under $50 to my door from 101 vape I may have to grab one for myself :D

Man, that's a tough one. I love my RX but I adore that Yihi chip. I've been waiting to pull the trigger on the IPV5.

image.jpeg Love the hell outta mine. I'm also a bit of a p4y fanboy, but that doesn't detract from a great mod. I've had no issues with any of my p4y stuff as I take excellent care of them.

I'm impatiently stalking my mailbox waiting on my IPV5 to show up today but I do have the RX200 and use it daily. It's an all around great mod that does everything you could ask from a vape. While its big and cumbersome, I've been carrying my RX almost full time lately; negating the need to carry a bushel of 18650's like I do when I tote one of my single cell mods.... Now I see that your friend went with the IPV, I'm sure he will like it. I'm hoping I do too.

Very nice wrap. I'm not a Star Wars fan and have never seen a full episode. Despite that, I love the looks of the themed wraps, especially that one.

After he has played with his shiny new toy for a week I may have to swap mods with him and try the 5 out for a day ;)

2 cell will probably just get me through the day and that's fine but yeah, a single cell requires a couple batts coming along for the day.
