Hello there
I am domiciled in EU and have been looking around real bad for this MOD...
So far all the EU and Chinese vendors have it either out of stock or those allegedly having them in stock are of questionable reliability and have it at a tag price of circa 100euro!!! At this tag price I could well go for the triade but I'm not really willing to get in the process of purchasing a further set or two of batteries as I'm currently using double battery devices... :wait:

Does anyone have a clue what's happening with ipv6x? Has pioneer4you discontinued production or they are unable to meet the demand...?? Would really like to get a device with decent power so as to power the cloud beast!!! :xD:

They're out here in the USA and I've noticed that the black version was really quick to sale out. We still have a few places that have them however I don't know if any will ship international. I also remember the youtube reviewer vapnfagan mention something about an IPV7 in the works. Maybe that has something as to why they supply of IPV6X's is drying up so fast.

here's two place's I know that have them in stock over here and maybe you can see how much it would be to shipping. I used an online usd to euro converter to give you an idea of their prices before shipping.

Good luck on your search and hopefully this info helps you out.

Thanks for the feedback... Don't know if ipv7 is in the pipeline, but feel that even in such a case it would be quite premature to replace a mod that was launched just a month and a half ago...

When P4Y decided not to release the SS TC update for the IPV3 Li because they wanted us to buy the IPV5. I decided to quit giving them my money. When a company markets something as upgradeable but refuses to do that because they would rather release a new mod every few months, then I refuse to support them. If they would have released the update or at least answered my emails. I would have probably bought the IPV5. Their greed backfired on them, at least with me.

In contrast a company like Evolv who keeps releasing updates for the DNA200, keeps getting my business.

If you stand behind your product and keep making it better, I'll keep buying it. If you screw me over, I'll never buy your product again. I vote with my wallet. YMMV

Cheers,
Steve

Your words are the bitter truth about pioneer4you policy... They did it in the past, done it again and will repeat doing it...

Indeed I might need to reconsider my choice, but as I already said my only concern for opting DNA200 is the three batteries requirement as I'm not keen with internal batteries... This will be an extra cost of at least 60 euro for two sets of reputable batteries

I want to say this up front. I'm not trying to say the IPV6 is bad. I'm not trying to tell you what to buy either.

That being said. The DNA200 chip is available in dual 18650 mods. It is limited to 133 watts when in a 2 battery configuration. I really like the Hcigar VT133 (DNA200 chip using dual 18650's). Lost Vape (Efusion Duo) and Vapor Shark also have a couple of mods out using dual 18650's but they are more expensive.

I've bought my VT133's for ~$80 each. We have a big thread here on the mod if you are interested. This post was only informational because you mentioned you thought it was only available in a triple battery configuration. Good luck in your search.

Mooch has already reviewed the VTC6 and found it to be comparable to his HG2's he has reviewed in the past and slightly better than the HG2s that he has recently tested.

In that review the Samsung 30Q's had the highest TCR (20 amps) and ran the coolest. I have both HG2's (the ones Mooch liked better) and 30Q's. I'd have to say the 30Q's are just a touch better. If I was buying them now, I'd definitely go with the 30Q's. Last I checked you could get 8 of them from GB for under $35 shipped.

I was mostly comparing it to the HG2s because A.) its the favorite and B.) No matter the testing to some people running a battery overs its rating can be sketchy. But I agree, have 6 Qs myself.

So the IPV 3 LI would of worked with SS if they released a firmware update for it?

This makes me feel a little annoyed as I own that, and also the IPV5. The IPV3 LI is one of my older dual 18650 mods, second only to my OG sigelei 150. If they could of simply offered a firmware upgrade over a new mod, that is rather annoying.

Daniel goes over all 3 versions. None of them are upgradeable. Such a shame because that's a deal breaker for me.

That is a shame, as I really, really like the shape of the IPV6X.

I think I may have to go for a SMOK Alien, I did want this but unfortunately Gearbest did not have any, so have sent me a H-Priv instead.

Then again, does anyone have either the Alien or IPV6x, and the RX 2/3? How do they compare in size? As I only really want either mod due to its size, if the 2/3 is a similar size in dual 18650 mode I may not need to, as I am finding it harder and harder to justify mod purchases unless they really stand out.

Not one vendor has replied to me as to what version they stock. Not even KMG replied. I know Daniel noted KMG sending him v1.3. That's why I emailed them first to check if they have v1.5.

I have a pre-sale ticket open with 3fvape to see what version they carry. I really want this mod but it's become a crapshoot. My IPV5's (v2.1) have been rock solid and are great performers. One of my favorite mods to date. I think the 6x could be a worthy replacement now that they have the bugs worked out.

Edit: Here's the reply I got from 3fvape:
Dear Sucker,

Thank you for your email! I cannot sure which version it is. But there is no lock problem or TCR mode problem for our units. The factory fixed the problem. You may try to place order. If there is any problem pls contact us.

Best regards,
Nikki

Wish me luck as I roll the dice!

Good Luck?!?
Check with Breazy.com. The customer service is spectacular. I'm sure if they have any in stock they will find out what version they are for you or die trying, lol.

I don't have the 3 to compare, but the alien is really small. it's smaller then a Vt133

I don't have an Rx 2/3but I have taken side by side shots of the alien, ipv6 and an original rx2oo for size comparison. I also took shots of the ipv6, alien and a boxer DNA 2oo since I'm told it's similar in size and shape of the 2/3 hope it helps.
PS of the 3 I prefer the ipv6 for its compact size and the shape

Thank you for taking some comparison photos for me, the IPV6X does look to be a nice size, slightly taller than the Alien, but it looks to be a bit smaller in diameter so will feel a bit more comfortable by the looks of things.

Also, the Yihi board does make me lean towards the IPV.

The photos are actually a little misleading. The IPV and the Alien are closer in depth than it appears there is only 3mm difference. 2mm difference in width, and 5mm in height. The most noticeable ,of course, is height. The ends of the IPV are rounded more and the center placement of the 510 makes it appear narrower, and it is. By 2mm, lol.
I personally find the more rounded corners make a little more difficult to hang on to, and I don't care for the 510 being center mounted.
The common agreement is that the 510 in the center allows for larger atty's to be used without overhang. This really isn't entirely correct. Both can handle a 25mm atty without overhang, and 30mm will overhang on both. The most common sizes of 22mm and 25mm can be used on both with no overhang.
As far as the Yihi board is concerned, with the advancements made recently by other manufacturers the gap in quality between Yihi and and other manufacturers is not really an issue anymore. For that matter if you look at the reviews of the Alien on the ole interweb, the performance of the Alien's board has been stellar.
As far as the aesthetics of the two go, that is subjective and only you can make that decision. I personally lean towards the Alien, and I own both. In fact, my IPV is mostly used as an atty stand, lol.

Thank you for clearing that up, seems there is not much difference in size at all with the two mods!

I have the H-Priv in the collection, and the board is much better than older offerings from SMOK, and I can only imagine the same with the Alien, I guess I have just got used to Evolv and Yihi boards performance, and it will take a while for me to realise SMOK have vastly improved.

I mostly have 22MM atty's in my collection, I can only think of two RDA's that are 30MM, the rest of my tanks and RDA's are 22MM if my memory serves me correctly, so overhang won't be an issue which is good.

I do slightly prefer the look of the Alien myself, I just need to make sure it is a mod I will use as it is harder and harder to justify new mods with the amount I have already lol.

I completely understand. I stated in another thread not long ago that its gotten to a point that really stinks. I see new mods come out really want them, order them, get all excited. Then when they arrive, t can't wait to try them out, get even more excited, then 15 minutes later I'm let down when I realize they do the exact same thing that my other rows and rows of mods do..........
In the end they all simply allow us to vape. Obviously one doesn't keep us from smoking any better than another when you consider what the equipment was like when some of us stopped. I can remember when they came out with the 900maH ego and we lined up in droves for it, so we could vape our cartomizers for a short time longer than the massive 650maH that came before it. And when low resistance dual coil cartos came out, we were pushing the envelope! Many vapers wouldn't touch them cause they operated at the terrifyingly low resistance of 1.5 ohm!

It sounds like you are in a very similar position to me gear wise.

I did try Ego style devices, but I never could get on with them, around the time I joined here was when I got my first 'real' mod, a Sigelei 30W mini and a nautilus mini. I then got my first RDA with it, an El Cabron, and then moved on to a OG Sigelei 150. I really got into collecting, and now have 27 regulated mods and 10 mechs.

I used to get very excited when a new mod was arriving, but like you say they all essentially do the same thing in allowing us to vape. Sure, some of my mods do things like SS TC better than others, but just for vaping in wattage mode my cheapest mod will allow me to do it.

I do remember taking a look at mechanical mods when I tried Ego's, but they seemed far too much work for me at the time, and safety worried me too! It sounds funny now that 1.5Ohms was seen as a very low resistance, and I missed out on that, but I have read some older threads where people speak of higher power regulated mods, and what would they be needed for? 30W was insane!

It seems that then higher resistance coils were very popular, and mods could push quite a bit of voltage to them- now we have 150W mods with a 6V output limit!

Have to bear in mind that back then the average vapor vaped around 8.5 to 10 Watts. The "high dollar" mods maxed at about 15. I remember how everyone went nuts when 20 and 30 watt mods came out, Lola. The DNA 20 and DNA 30 ruled the roost back then, and the economical vapers were using Vamo's and MVP's.
That's part of why mechanicals were all the rage for a while. Most couldn't afford a DNA so if you wanted something over 20 Watts, you had to go mechanical.
The Silver Bullet was incredible!
Thus came high wattage regulated. It allowed the masses to vape at high wattage without all the work involved or the safety concerns.
And here we are. Well, most anyway. I own several 200 watt plus devices that don't get used anywhere near that. I'm what everyone calls a tootle puffer. Lol

Ah I remember those days. I remember purchasing an 11 watt evic which was like 11 watts and one of the most powerfull and feature rich regulated mods at the time after wanting something better then the basic ego style I was using to quit tobacco lol. And it was barely an upgrade. That's why I started using mechs. I didn't start using regulated box mods until late about 1 year ago and they have come a long way

And back then that evic was around $150. $200 if you wanted the whole package. I just bought a head and tubes separate. Cost half that, lol.
There was a time when a DNA 30 was like $250 to $300 and I just got email this morning about a DNA 40 for $29.99!
I paid $200 for each Provari I had and it would only do 15 watts, but it would do it from the time that battery was at 4.2 volts all the way down to 3.2.
I loved those things. Their efficiency was off the charts, build quality was impeccable, and a warranty that couldn't be beat.
It's crazy how far we've come. We talk about it like it was 30 years ago, but it was more like last month. We thought computer model years were short. If we don't act, before long the FDA will have us back to ego's and carts with 100% PG liquid, just cause it's easier conceal after it's been made illegal.
