IRS will NEVER CALL YOU over indiscrepancies .
Just a heads up.
My mother got a call about 6 months ago,my wife got one last week and even my 17yr old nephew who's never had a job got a call.
they claim to be with the IRS and that you have delinquent taxes that need to be paid immediately and in full or a warrant for tax evasion will be issued. From what I hear they are very persistent and also very convincing(they already know a lot of your info)and will ask you to either make a trip to your bank for a money transfer or a cashiers check.
my mother was on the hook and was actually on her way to the bank before she became suspicious.
they woke my wife from a deep sleep and scared the hell out of her. Luckily she was suspect from the start and called the actual IRS for confirmation.
my nephew already knew about the scam from the previous tries and messed with the guy for over 4 hours..
I love that kid!
Anyways,when my wife contacted the IRS she was told that they are aware of the scam and that the IRS will NEVER CALL YOU over indiscrepancies .
Be careful with your personal info and always double check anyone asking for money over the phone.
