Is it possible?

I would like to know if it's possible to just look at an RTA and know without trying if it will be good for flavor. So basically, if I'm a flavor chaser, what sort of things should I look out for? What are some of the factors that contribute towards getting good flavor ?

There are some attributes that could be considered conducive to flavor. Short tank, big deck, juice flow control, airflow control, bottom feed, and conical shape are some of the first things that come to mind. That being said a tank needs to be designed so it can take full advantage of some of the things I mentioned. Best way to find a flavor tank would be to talk to other Vapors that are into flavor chasing.

Chamber/shroud around the build deck and chimney size and length. Usually, a small chamber combined with a short and fairly wide chimney are a good indicator in my experience.

When I first got the Alleria I wasn't crazy for it but man has that tank grown on me.

The dotmod RTA sounds very interesting, I'll have to check this one out. On a side note, do you perhaps know anything about the merlin mini ?

I'll have to wait on that one, only based on the experiences I've had with the 2 full size I had. Flavor, fantastic, ease of build, fantastic. I fall into the group of people that had NOTHING but leaking with it. I'm not a big fan of 2ml tanks, and not at that price point that I've seen. I paid less for the full size, from the states and from overseas. I think it was a great idea, I sincerely do wish I had a better experience with it.

SubtankSupply has the mini for $25 .I REALLY wanted to like the Merlin but for an mtl tank it was too airy so I had to make a smaller air restrictor. The flavor is good and it is very easy to build on but I prefer Alleria for DL and Phenomenon lite or Gem 2 for MTL. I have high hopes for Rose v3, just waiting for someone to chime in with opinions. The Kayfun v5 is a little bit on the airy side for me but the Kayfun mini v3 is better since you have more flexibility in air flow adjustment.

If its that seeping you are referring to then I have experienced the same. However I can not resist this:

Usually, a smaller chamber (the area around the coil), and tighter airflow -- both will tend to concentrate the vapor a bit, rather than inhaling a lot of air. Other than that, not really; I find a bottom airflow best for flavor, but others often argue with me about that. A domed or conical shape to the inside of the chamber can also be helpful, but I've got a couple of Achilles, which don't have that interior shape, and they're absolutely saturated flavor, so that shape isn't always a requirement.

Other than that, you really kinda just have to try it out, with different builds, different coils, different wicks, different power levels, to maximize flavor from any atty, or to know if an atty suits your preferences.

Seeping is what it started out as. It became the "running down the mod multiple times a day" kind.
I'm glad I don't have this same issue. My seeps a little and after every tank or half a tank I would need to clean up.

I really wish I hadn't either. I was so excited about it. Flavor was freaking fantastic!! Just couldn't get past that, no matter what I tried. The only thing I didn't do was higher VG, but I can't do that.

OP- I got a 24mm Petri RTA clone from 3F. It's real good. Flavor is out of this world and TONS of vapor.

It's a little tricky to set-up, but well worth the time and trouble.
