Is my coil build safe??

I am testing a 24gauge kanthal dual twisted coil build. I don't have an ohm reader. Its 5 wraps for each, should I be good with this? Heats up kind of fast...if it matters, I'm using a tugboat tuglyfe unregulated box mod an a sigelli moonshot Rdta. Ive never done twisted coils so just wondering?

Building that low without the benefit of an accurate ohm reader is not something I'd recommend. With twisted 24G and a 3mm mandrel you're going to come in .1ish . You can at the very least get an idea of what you might get here.

Alright thanks. Idk if I'm doing the steam engine right. I put in everything an it says I should be at around .5 but feel like that's not correct. Also, I switch off between Sony Vtc4 I believe? (2100mah 30A high drain) and LG HE2? (2500mah 35A high drain) both are 3.6 v I believe....iv always stuck to 5-6 wrap dual coils not twisted so I don't know much about twisted coils or anything

thanks, I tested with a multimeter too and I feel like its not extremely accurate just cuz it wouldnt settle but it did stay between about .12-.25 and from reviews I've read I feel safe enough using the Sony vtc4 batteries

Choose Kanthal then twisted then 24G and dual coil. Set the diameter to 3mm and then adjust the resistance until you get the number of wraps that match what you want. Comes out at .12 for 5 wraps on 3mm in a dual setup. .24 per coil half that for dual. That will give you ballpark. You'd need an accurate dedicated ohm meter to know in the real world.

It's a parallel dual battery mod so at 4.2V and .12 your max draw would be 35A spread over two batteries. Should be fine.
