Is nitecore really the worst of the top 3 brand chargers?

Hi people.

I also posted this on a UK forum, I just want to see if I get the same answers.

I received a lovely D4 today, no more batteries in a que like they are waiting for a bus now I have this plus the I2.

Someone did mention though that Efest is better. I understand you can select your own charge method(you can on the nitecore too actually, in the instructions it says how)EDIT: That is actually only low voltage charging, so Ignore) that but I got told it was the bottom after Efest, a brand I can not remember, then Nitecore.

Is this based on safety or features?

As to me, safety is more important than features. I don't mind waiting an extra hour for a battery if it prolongs their life, and reduces risk.

I was also put off of Efest due to their over zealous battery ratings of re wraps, and also their new 2900MAH battery they assured me it was their first in house battery, a friend in the USA owns one of the main battery suppliers for vapers, so tested them.

They was a re wrapped LG HG2. I looked at mine, and sure enough it has the 4 point connection at the positive like my Hg2's, and it also performs the same regarding battery sag and such.
Lying buggers, after that I did not feel safe buying a actual charger from them.

So, when people say nitecore is at the bottom, is it because of features or safety?

BTW, I got this charger brand new for 23 quid. All the others, even the nitecore at other retailers was over £30, so for the price think I have done great, and am using it now.

I just want to know about married batteries. Can I charge 2 sets of married batteries at once, or 1 set and also charge un married batteries at the same time?

Thanks people, Conan.

I've been using a Nitecore digi charger D4 for the longest time and haven't had a stitch of trouble with it. Constantly cycling batteries through it as there is 3 vapers in my house. Just put the batteries in and wait !

My nitecore i2 has been charging multiple sets of batteries every day for at least 6 months now. Ive had zero issues with it. However, I did hear of people who have had bad luck with them. Im pretty sure they have been cloned and the knockoffs sold as the real thing, but whats a clone when its all made in china anyways? I dunno, mine works just fine.

I've had a D-4 for several months now, and it's charging batteries almost non-stop as we have two vapers in the house. I have had zero problems with it, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing a reliable charger. As a matter of fact, I'm probably gonna purchase another one when I pick up a couple more mods in the not too distant future.

Probably the missing one was xtar. I like them all but the efest luc for me would be at the bottom.
I'd go xtar, nitecore, then efest. Both nitecore and xtar have made a come up in chargers with displays. The luc is nice but not number one in my book. All of them are good can't go wrong with any of them tbh.

Ahh thats good then. It was the Xtar that I could not remember. I got told it went Efest, xtar then nitecore.

BUT I have had a Nitecore I2 for 6 months that was constantly on being used, that works perfectly still, that is why I got another nite core, plus it was at least £15 cheaper than the other chargers (It is genuine, I checked) it was £23 from my vape shop, they do really good deals sometimes.

So for the price, and the worldwide insurance, as long as it charges my batteries and allows me to vape SAFELY, I am happy.

I do not mind waiting longer for a charge if it is safer/ better for the battery.

I will probably mostly use the D4 and the I2 together, so I can get the full current to the batteries in the D4. I doubt I will have a que bigger than 4, but if it does get to six (Which it likely will with a extra mod each month until May) I am happy, and as long as it is a safe product I am more than happy with the deal I got.

Plus the LCD screen with info really impresses me, I can see that I HAVE been pulling batteries at 3.6-3.7V from my mechs.

I have a multimeter on the way too, but seeing the voltage on there is nice.

I have a nitecore D4 and have been using it everyday for the past 7 months with no problems. Nowadays I have anywhere from 2-4 batteries on it every night and it hasn't given me any trouble at all. I take it with me in my bag if I'm going away for the weekend so it's been bounced around quite a bit and still works. Plus with a 12 month global warranty it was hard to say no for the price.

Ok I am pretty satisfied I did not get a bad deal. It was around £15 cheaper than equivalents, I even got this one cheap as its usually over 30 pounds, my vape shop does deals sometimes and I got it for £23, I have used it this morning and its fantastic. It does exactly what I want, and that is charge my batteries lol.

With the I2 on as well, I shall never have batteries queing again I hope.

I really like the Efest LUC chargers. They have a good display, very fast charging (2A), and stay nice and cool.

We also carry Nitecore because I think they're a good safe budget option. So yeah Nitecore is fine, it just doesn't display as much info and has slower max charge rates.

I honestly, have no problem with the Efest chargers, but I'm put off by the brand in general. I prefer Nitecore as a budget option to Efest. That said I have an Xtar charger and it's now my goto charger for all of my batteries, vape or no. It's so damn solid and it monitors everything. Everything. It also conditions batteries to squeeze something like 20 or so extra charge cycles are near full capacity out of them before they start to degrade.

My i2 has been working just fine as well but on occasion ive had a false "full battery" charge reading. Once removed and put back in its charged like it should every time.

Xtar is probably the best charger you can get technology wise for us vapors at a reasonable price...Each bay of the xtar are independent of each other and not combined as one to charge 2 batteries on the same board or more..This makes for a much more accurate charger and a safer one as well...Slower charging is fine for me as long as it doesn't take longer than my needing to replace batteries again...Takes about 3 to 3.5hrs on my i2 to charge 2 batteries..this leaves me a couple hours or so.

Its a pretty big rumor that Xtar makes the Efest LUC chargers..I searched for confirmation but cant find it as of yet.

The xtar also has a lot more charging features and provides a bunch more information about the charge and state of the battery..for a few dollars more this will be the route I take for my next charger.

My nitecore digicharger d4 has been flawless for almost a year still have original packaging with a scratch off validation code I would like to know your source or if you remember do I have a clone?? display features do not always indicate a inferior product or that I don't have a concept of battery safety sometimes barebones just runs and runs if I'm lucky I will check in again next year lol

Nitecore clones are amazing, we had some earlier this year that were exactly identical in every way, with holographic scratch off codes and all. Luckily our charger inspection process is crazy and we actually pull them apart and inspect the circuit board as well as scratch off and check some of the codes, so they never got sold. The codes were valid but copied, so it showed that it was valid but someone had already checked it. The circuit boards were very close, even had the same text on them, but you could tell the manufacturing quality was significantly inferior on the circuit board level, mainly the soldering. We sent the pics to our Nitecore rep and he was "impressed" with the level they had went to but was able to confirm they definitely were not nitecore.

I have two different Nitecore. However, I prefer my two Xtar chargers (SP2 & VC4), due to higher Amp rates for charging. I mainly use the Xtars for my vape batteries, and the Nitecores for rechargeable AA & AAA batteries.

I've had a Nitecore I4 for, well, quite a while. It has always worked fine electronically (at least as far as this lay person's ability to determine such things) but has always exhibited a mechanical wonkiness that is annoying. It requires two hands to insert a battery. To elaborate, the metal battery stop which is spring-loaded and mounted on a rail will stop about a half-inch short of the distance necessary to load an 18650 batt. Doing so requires two hands which I generally do not have available. The other hand will have juice, a drink or three other 18650s needing a charge.

It would seem mine is an exception as everyone adores these things as well as the D-series.

I just picked up an XTAR VC4 which is prettier. Lotsa lights 'n' stuff. Batteries load easily but it's too new to make a judgement on quality. It's definitely more attractive. ;)

Nitecore brand is not as tightly controlled as you'd hope (considering its keeping the batteries safe). The factories are OK but there are better options for sure. I consider NC to be the lowest entry charger and personally don't endorse as I've seen the assembly lines. There are much better options if you want a bit higher quality check out XTAR.

This guy as well has the best 18650 charger reviews on the net: www.lygte-info.dk/

Thanks for the advice on batteries, bro' @battery bro.

I have come to believe that NiteCore sells more chargers because they're the cheaper of those generally considered to be The Big Three.. However, after wrestling with one for a while, I lost any belief that the quality is "tight;y controlled." That link you posted is a veritable wealth, thanks!

I hate nitecore and the efest LUC chargers. I have a nitecore d2 and a LUC V4. The nitecore will consistantly charge my batteries to 4.16v each, pisses me off. The LUC V4, not so much. First and third bay charge to 4.19v and the 2nd to 4.17 and the fourth to 4.16v. I check the battery voltages after charging with my multimeter and it never changes. So on the LUC i charge my married batteries in the 1st and 3rd slot, 2nd and 4th are for my unmarried batteries. The D2 gets some use because I like that it can charge at 300mah. I never use the LUC v4 on anything but 500 mah. I like to make charging easy on my batteries. I plan to try an Xtar charger next, unless there is another inexpensive option I dont know of.

I love my Xtar VC2. It has resurrected some really dead 18650s. It will charge them even if they are way below cutoff. And it does give you lots of info about the batteries state and capacity...
