Yelp found a way to ban me without removing me from the system.
I decided to tell the world what I thought of Time Warner Cable, and I ended the post with "Wow, I hate Time Warner Cable." OK, it might have been an epic rant, but the page I posted in said "This Time Warner location is reported closed." It had been inactive for a couple years. And honestly, TWC is worse than anything I could ever attempt to describe. So yeah, the review was actually not too bad, everything considering.
A month or two went by before I realized every post I was writing was automatically hidden. The old posts had disappeared as well. They never told me I did anything bad. They never told me I was writing into the void. I didn't even get an automatic bot message.
Joining Yelp. Wow. I didn't realize until they sort-of banned me that I should have never joined in the first place. Most/all the bad things they say about that site are actually true, but I was temporarily blinded by the fact that I had just moved to The Sticks, and it was nice adding accurate shout-outs to businesses that didn't have a lot of reviews.
