Looks like it started auto-firing when nobody was around. Lucky he caught it and it didn't burn the house down. Eleaf has still, to this day, never admitted there is an ongoing problem. Eleaf/Joyetech just keeps pumping this garbage out like it's no big deal. Goes to show how much they care about customer service. Make money, screw the customer.

I'm glad mine died peacefully in its sleep, rather than go out with a bang.....

I do love my IStick 50, but I am very careful where I leave it, charge it, and keep all my mods standing upright in a metal box under the coffee table when not in use. Vape safe.

It seems best not to charge it overnight while you're sleeping, and remove the atomizer when you're not using it, or when you walk away from it. Certainly wouldn't leave it in a car with an atty attached. Random auto-firing while not on a charger is what a few hundred people have reported. Someone took a video of one auto-firing while it was sitting on a table all by itself. It seems eleaf/joyetech uses extremely cheap low amperage batteries in these... Just be careful.

I have held my mods from time to time right "about there" while driving, once in a while the fire button will go off depending on the positioning of the mod, accidental firing can happen like that as well.:)

Which istick was this? I've only ever seen this with internal battery variants. Glad no one was hurt

Crap, I was going to buy the Istick 100 for the collection. I am not so sure now, it was a very cheap price, this may well be why.

According to the article, it's the 50w.
Yeah, I'm going with inferior lipo packs is the culprit.
@conanthe warrior, I know several people with the 100 and have zero issues. From what I understand it has a 94% efficiency. The only problems I've ever seen have been with the built-in batteries. I think you're safe with the replaceable 18650 models.
I just picked up the 60w Tc for a super cheap ($25) compact carry around device. The the X Brick isn't exactly the best device for a pocket ;)

Hmm I am glad I went for the Evic VT mini for the collection-it works and it works well. Plus I hope there is no explosions near the testicular area with this one lol. And I purely went on it due to looks-I liked the solid green better than just the panels.

Are you going to risk another one lol-or go for a different mod?

EDIT:Hang on-I just realised the EVIC VT mini is by Joyetech, are my balls safe?

Curious if it was just a batch of these that had problems, or it really is a random/entire line issue. I love my IStick 50, and use it every day. 7 months, and not a single issue. As with all mods, im just careful when I charge it, and where I store it. Always tuned off when it's in my pocket.

Isn't it more than just the 60's that have blown up though? If it is, I would say its the entire line.

I don't think there is any batch in particular since it's still happening to new ones. This one happened a couple weeks ago. I think the novelty of reporting them has worn off, since nobody is surprised anymore

Are there any reports of the Joyetech evic vt mini doing the same? I don't want an explosive in my pocket, or even worse next to my genitals.

Clearly, Eleaf is a de-seatfull company. I would be appoplectic!! Send a pic to the Chair-man of Eleaf, and tell him you demand compensation! I will never recommend Eleaf to anybody. I used to have a burn-box beside my desk, it was like a fire safe but with thermite inside. I would suggest that Eleaf users either get a better mod (not an Eleaf) or install a burnbox to contain their mod!

Haven't heard of any problems, but you could always google it to see if something comes up
