Isub Apex good for temp control?

So I've been running an Isub Apex on the new Kbox 60w platinum. I'm using the nickel coils and they have great flavor for a few hits, but then they stop producing great clouds and the flavor is almost non existent. The fact that this tank works so well in VW node with a kanthal coil, and that this box runs it so well in wattage mode leads me to believe that the Apex just isn't a good candidate for temp control. The only fix I've found is turning the temp up to 500F which is well above the recommended level on the coils, and then the base of the tank gets very hot.

Should I try a lower resistance coil? I'm running a .2 and I could buy a .1

Or maybe I could try titanium instead of nickel?

Let me know if anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong, but also what you think about the Apex as a temp control tank.

Might be that batch of Ni200 you have. Maybe get another 5 pack of the .2 coils and see how they perform. If the Kanthal works best in the Apex, and you enjoy that vape, then use that until you upgrade your tank to an RDA/RBA or something else that works better in TC mode. There are a bunch of 3rd generation tanks out there that are coming down in price. (Arctic V8, Herakles plus, etc..) Also check youtube for reviews on your Apex. You get could get some ideas on how to get it to work for your liking. good luck.
