Tobacco. House Bill 11 will ban the use of tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaping devices on public school campuses, in school vehicles and at school activities beginning with the 2020-21 school year. School districts would have up to three years to opt out of the ban should they choose. The individual districts not opting out will also be able to set the penalties for violating the ban.

LOL but the penalties are from $1-$5.
Real bad ass law.

My thought as well.
Just politicians pandering to the antivapers.
Had it not been for the anti vaper frenzy the anti smoking law would not have passed.

this is the first statewide no smoking in or around public schools law.

And in the same batch of laws they finally made it illegal to have sex with animals
I wonder if there will be divorces over that law?

Just moved from ky (Somerset) to tn seems as though there on the verge here in tn to enforce or establish nicotine regulations here in tn as well. Read something about them increasing the tax on vape related items an additional 15% whenever they pushed that no cell phone at all while driving deal. Couldn't find any additional information about it tho the wife just showed me a fb post but you know you can't really believe anything you read on fb. Found a few articles about the "epidemic" high school are having with juuls n similar. Increased the buying age to 21 so the seniors couldn't black market it to the underclassman.... Always agreed with no smoking in a heavily child populated areas or around kids. I'll dub it out if the kids come around at an outdoor event n what not. Just thought that was a respect type thing that should be in the common sense section.

Sadly that section gets smaller and smaller every year.
It gets in the way of merchandising and other things.
