Seriously competitive PC gaming used to have one hard and fast rule: don't use wireless gear. This rule was based on two factors:
Performance: This is the big issue with wireless. Wired connections generally have a fast response time, one limited primarily by the cable connection itself. In contrast, the additional signal processing of wireless technology can introduce milliseconds of unwanted latency – the sort of delay that might mean the difference between life and death in a lightning-paced MOBA – and can suffer from radio interference, causing S.O.S. distress beeps in nearby speakers, or sluggish response time when a plasma TV is on.
