JETT: The Far Shore, the mysterious space exploration game from Superbrothers and Pine Scented Software will be released on October 5 for PS5, PS4, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
First revealed during last year's PS5 reveal event showcase, JETT preorders will begin today and feature a 20% discount off its $29.99 price. The developers confirmed its launch today alongside a new cinematic trailer debuted during gamescom's Opening Night Live ceremony.
JETT is a single-player adventure that puts players in the role of Mei, a scout sent alongside a group of explorers to an alien, ocean planet where her people hope to forge their new future. Players will explore the planet via a "jett," a ship that can skim across land and sea, as they investigate local flora and fauna, encounter new challenges, and seek to understand the source of the mysterious "hymnwave," which has been the impetus for Mei's people to look to the stars for salvation.
Players will also get to learn more about Mei's fellow travelers in first-person sequences and gain a better understanding of this dangerous but important mission.
Though tentatively planned for a 2020 launch, JETT was delayed into 2021 late last year, while earlier in 2021 during a State of Play, Superbrothers offered a detailed deep dive of what JETT's gameplay would be like.
